My son was homeless in west palm beach and had been through so many centers all over that area. I was feeling hopeless. I reached out this ARTR and staff assured me he would be taken care of. So on a whim, I sent him here. I wasn't lied to! They took my son in, got him food and a bed. He seen a therapist every day, great group sessions. The other places took him kayaking and on boats BUT WHAT DOES THAT DO?? This place is practical I have my son back today. He is over ten months clean!!! This is a miracle and I have to thank everyone at a Road To Recovery. Thank god and thank you!!!

This place is a low quality treatment center. Yes, they do take a lot of people who have little to no money (or a car) and that sounds great but what happens is, the people who do pay full price or have good insurance policies suffer because there is no money for any amenities. I have been told that they can survive on 12 insurance policies at any time. This place does nothing for the clients, they only go to the beach once a week and if they have enough people, they go to the gym only 2 times a week. They do not have any other activities for the clients and they don’t go on any outings (movies, kayak, bowling, equine therapy ect). You only get 50$ a week in grocery money and you only shop at Winn-Dixie. They have tube TV’s in the houses, no flat screens, no internet, no Netflix, no hulu, just basic cable...The clients run this place and they know it, it is like a zoo there. Clients get to choose when there discharge dates are, not clinical and they caterer to couples. They have little to no structure, the building is disgusting because they have never hire a cleaning crew. ...There clinical team is weak and turnover is high (6 counselors in 6 months)...They fired great employees on black Friday because of budgeting issues, only give employees 5 PTO days after they have completed a year. For the past 2 years there have been no holiday bonus, Christmas parties and this year, there was no new year’s paid holiday. ...They leased out their new detox to their rival treatment center and lost complete control of it. They made multiple promises of better positions, raises, and opportunities to multiple employees and nothing was given after they leased the detox...Do your research and find a better place to get recovery.

I have 16 months today and i couldn\'t even get an hour before. I have been to the fancy rehabs and none of them taught me anything. RTR is a place that teaches you how to live clean and sober and get past our traumas and fears. The groups are amazing. One staff member in particular and the rest of the staff all genuinely care. When I would pass any staff member they would all personally great and introduce themselves to me. They made me feel important. They taught me and about the different fellowships and coping skills. I wouldn\'t be who and where I am today with out this place!!!!

A Road To Recovery showed me how to get sober but more importantly, stay sober. They taught me coping skills and how to properly address and resolve any issues I come across. This facility and staff truly helped save my life!

This wasn't the first treatment center that I attended. What made this time different was the life skills element to the program and I had felt really comfortable with the staff. It was clearly apparent that they wanted to see me get better and put my life back together. It was the support and positive influence in my life that I needed and it helped me form better relationships going forward.

The staff goes above and beyond to treat every client. If someone is serious about wanting to stop using/drinking A Road to Recovery provides all of the tools and more to start someone on their path to sobriety. The staff really care and do all they can to help any and all people struggling with addiction.

The place seemed like a spa and the people were nice enough. The treatment did not seem to take all that well. Be more involved with the center and the type of treatment I guess.

From the first day I was arrived at A Road to Recover I was embraced by the staff as if I was family. The staff was so helpful and understanding of my situation and could relate to everything I was going through. If I had a problem or was feeling distressed I could turn to anyone on staff and they were more then willing to help me through my issue. I had been to treatment before but never expiereneed the type of personal one on one care I received at a road to recovery. By the time I left treatment I was confident that I knew exactly what was required of me to be successful in my journey of sobriety. I talked through issues that i had never dealt with in my past and feel it brought me to a place of serenity. I am so grateful for this facility and would recommend it to anyone I know that is struggling with this nasty disease of addiction that effects so many families.

Official Facility Response
In regard to the review written here by JH, I find it very difficult to believe this is a real review written by an actual Road to Recovery Alumni. Seldom would a client use such clinical terminology as is used in the accusation that ARTR has "No Dual Diagnosis" treatment. A Road to Recovery is a voluntary program in an extremely home like, non institutional setting more like that of life on a collage campus and certainly the furthest from anything that may resemble Jail. Mail is absolutely allowed. As for phone usage, while clients do not keep their own personal cell phones, there is more than adequate access to facility supplied phones designated for client usage. There is daily Gym access and weekend outings in addition to daily outside activities and evening outings to local 12 Step meetings. A Road to Recovery maintains strict HIPAA Guidelines never revealing clients personal history to others, not even in a group therapy setting. Only the client themselves has authority to discuss or reveal personal issues to other clients. Lastly, A Road to Recovery does and is authorized by The State of Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF), to treat Dual Diagnosis clients within the scope of it's modality
