Specialization

  • Creative Arts Therapy
Writing, making art or engaging in theater can be deeply therapeutic for people working to recover from addiction. Many facilities offer one or several forms of creative arts therapy as a way to help patients learn to express their feelings in productive ways.
  • Client & Family Support Groups
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.

Worst three weeks of my life. I’ve had a lot of trauma by the hands of men and i was assigned a male therapist, something i’d NEVER had before. When i asked for a female therapist, they refused and told me i needed to “go through this journey with a man” whatever that’s supposed to mean. So the whole time i was there i didn’t even get the help i needed because i was uncomfortable with my therapist. (He was also kind of a creep.) oh, and now i’m $6,000 in debt because they neglected to inform me my insurance was kicking me out until the NIGHT BEFORE, when i live six hours away. so i has to pay $5,000 to be there until 10am. Thanks, Adolescent Growth!

Staff not very helpful and accommodations were very limited and not helpful

Matt

Send my son there for treatment adolescent growth made it clear insurance was in network and approved treatment. COUPLE weeks in to state Ins dropped my child and we would have to pay for his stay pending a review by peers. Paid for out of pocket because we felt our son needed to be in patient. Adolescent growth stated they would refund money when Ins caught up. Well Ins cought up and they haven’t refunded the money. They claim to be on top of there Ins and are not committed to helping your family. Also in dealing with adolescent growth staff we felt once they got you on the hook they no longer cared. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

It is 1:30 in the morning and we just got home from picking my daughter up from the Lombard facility. We received a voicemail at 2:08 that our insurance was up effective yesterday and I called back within 30 minutes. No one returned my call until 7pm. When they did call, I was informed that they missed a clinical report to our insurance due to my daughter being in the hospital. My insurance had decline our coverage as of yesterday. She had only been in for 7 days of the recommended 45. Dr recommended I wait until a peer to peer review and hope for the best. Meanwhile, she informed me that I now had complete financial responsibility if she stayed the night. We live 3 hours away from the facility and were given no information on what that would cost. When we got there, there was not discharge papers, no assistance for transitioning her out of in patient, nor any information on monitoring the new drugs she as on. The people in the facility seemed genuine and caring. The people running it seem very shady. I also was told that they were in network Blue Cross Blue Shield both during and after the admissions process. Reading the reviews, I am now worried that I was flat out lied to like the previous reviewer. First call tomorrow will be to find out patient help for my daughter, the next is to Blue Cross Blue Shield to see if our dealing with Adolescent Growth is even worse than we thought. Avoid this group.

While my daughter was in-patient, I inquired online about insurance benefits. I was quoted my in network deductible and told they work with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. We were only 5 days into what turned out to be a 14 day in-patient stay, and the admissions department called me EVERY DAY to ask me to commit to brining my daughter there. I was annoyed, but ultimately liked that the facility was close to home, so I chose to take her there. The Lombard facility is fantastic. The staff is great, the accommodations are beautiful, the house is clean, and the overall feel was warm and inviting. My daughter made excellent progress there. Things started to unravel at discharge. I received a call from corporate about my insurance benefits ending and we needed to schedule a discharge the next day. Only then was I told they are OUT of network, and my out of network benefits only paid what feels like $.01/$1,000. I am now almost $70,000 in debit after 40 days and they refuse to return my phone calls or send me itemized invoices. This is ridiculous. If you can afford it, I highly recommend the Lombard facility. If you don't have $100,000 for the full 60 day stay, don't bother. Awful service from corporate, bordering on criminal.
