Send my son there for treatment adolescent growth made it clear insurance was in network and approved treatment. COUPLE weeks in to state Ins dropped my child and we would have to pay for his stay pending a review by peers. Paid for out of pocket because we felt our son needed to be in patient. Adolescent growth stated they would refund money when Ins caught up. Well Ins cought up and they haven’t refunded the money. They claim to be on top of there Ins and are not committed to helping your family. Also in dealing with adolescent growth staff we felt once they got you on the hook they no longer cared. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

It is 1:30 in the morning and we just got home from picking my daughter up from the Lombard facility. We received a voicemail at 2:08 that our insurance was up effective yesterday and I called back within 30 minutes. No one returned my call until 7pm. When they did call, I was informed that they missed a clinical report to our insurance due to my daughter being in the hospital. My insurance had decline our coverage as of yesterday. She had only been in for 7 days of the recommended 45. Dr recommended I wait until a peer to peer review and hope for the best. Meanwhile, she informed me that I now had complete financial responsibility if she stayed the night. We live 3 hours away from the facility and were given no information on what that would cost. When we got there, there was not discharge papers, no assistance for transitioning her out of in patient, nor any information on monitoring the new drugs she as on. The people in the facility seemed genuine and caring. The people running it seem very shady. I also was told that they were in network Blue Cross Blue Shield both during and after the admissions process. Reading the reviews, I am now worried that I was flat out lied to like the previous reviewer. First call tomorrow will be to find out patient help for my daughter, the next is to Blue Cross Blue Shield to see if our dealing with Adolescent Growth is even worse than we thought. Avoid this group.

Excellent
While my daughter was in-patient, I inquired online about insurance benefits. I was quoted my in network deductible and told they work with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. We were only 5 days into what turned out to be a 14 day in-patient stay, and the admissions department called me EVERY DAY to ask me to commit to brining my daughter there. I was annoyed, but ultimately liked that the facility was close to home, so I chose to take her there. The Lombard facility is fantastic. The staff is great, the accommodations are beautiful, the house is clean, and the overall feel was warm and inviting. My daughter made excellent progress there. Things started to unravel at discharge. I received a call from corporate about my insurance benefits ending and we needed to schedule a discharge the next day. Only then was I told they are OUT of network, and my out of network benefits only paid what feels like $.01/$1,000. I am now almost $70,000 in debit after 40 days and they refuse to return my phone calls or send me itemized invoices. This is ridiculous. If you can afford it, I highly recommend the Lombard facility. If you don't have $100,000 for the full 60 day stay, don't bother. Awful service from corporate, bordering on criminal.

The concept is good if you have the proper staff. Entirely new staff 4 weeks or less... My child was verbally assaulted by another resident and the police were called yet no one contacted us about the “incident”. Lied to corporate about who they could and could not speak with. something very suspicious about this place. Corporate will treat you very nice until your child is there and then you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. We rescued our child from this place. Just because the facility is beautiful and upscale does not mean the people that should be helping your child will actually help. Because it’s very pretty and nice on the outside and inside, however what goes on in there I would describe as hell on earth.

Would not send my worst enemy there, we called the Lombard location to learn more about their program and availability. We explained our circumstance that our child was just admitted to an inpatient program and it would be 5 to 7 days before they would be available to come to their location and we were told it would not be an issue. After 3 days it was a daily call of when our child was coming to their facility. Our child arrived on Tuesday at 4:00 pm and Wednesday at 10:00 am we received a call stating that our child was taken to the ER and that they did not fit their program. When we got to the ER most of his belonging were there and we are still trying to get the remainder of items. The program director stated she would be there to help us find a different location that better fit our child's needs. What a joke, has never returned our call after 10 calls to the facility and left message and emails asks for a return call as we want to know details of what happened as one member called us on Tuesday evening to say what a wonderful child we hand and how well they were getting along with the other children. Discharge paperwork said we went against medical recommendations, seriously he went to an inpatient facility after they took him to the ER. Scary that places like this exist and parents that truly want to help their children have to live thru a night mare experience like this.

Before my daughter went to Adolescent Growth, she had been struggling with depression and an addiction to heroin and opiates for over 2 years. We tried everything from IOP programs to other residential programs until finally, we were referred to Adolescent Growth by my daughter\'s School Counselor. Initially, we were very skeptical of how effective treatment would be here since nothing had worked in the past. Very quickly however, we learned the this program was much different then any of the programs we have tried before. The therapists here did a great job of really connecting with my daughter and really getting to the bottom of her issues. What really made the difference for us was the amount of time the spent not only with my daughter, but with our family. The Saturday family groups and the family support groups were beyond helpful. All of the staff at the facility seemed to genuinely care about us and really tried everything they could to help us. This program saved my daughter and our family. Thank you Adolescent Growth !
