Philosophy

The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Centers (ADATC) run three Alabama-based facilities devoted to helping people recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Olivia’s House is a unique residential rehab that allows children under 10 to live with their mothers during inpatient treatment. Long-term residency plans and a holistic approach to recovery promotes total healing, and allows mothers to get the comprehensive care they need without leaving their young children behind. In turn, children are provided with psychological and behavioral services to help them deal with the traumatic impact addiction can have on young family members.

The staff did not follow the admission priority list. The staff were rude to the client once she was admitted. It is over crowded, old, in a bad neighborhood. This could be compensated for if they had competent staff who also cared. It is one of the few facilities in the state that also takes children. I do not know if they do therapy &/or preventive work with the children.
