ABOUT ARETE DETOX
Located midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale in sunny South Florida, Arete Detox provides medically monitored detox and residential treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and dual diagnoses. It's among the 10.9 percent of rehabs in Florida that offer medical detox in a residential setting.
Arete is owned by Delphi Behavioral Health Group, which operates 10 treatment facilities around the country. As such, Arete is among the 52.7 percent of Florida-based facilities that operate as private, for-profit enterprises.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Detox at Arete typically lasts between five and seven days, during which time clients receive 24/7 medical support and medications prescribed both to ease the symptoms of withdrawal and to treat any medical conditions diagnosed by the staff doctor.
Medical care is supplemented by individual and group counseling and recreational activities. Among its medical services, the center offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using Suboxone, for individuals struggling with opioid dependency.
Following detox, clients are encouraged to progress to the residential program, which may last up to 90 days, positioning the center among the 20.8 percent of Florida rehabs that offer treatment lasting longer than 30 days.
During residential care, clients participate in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI), as well as 12-step programming.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Of the five reviews submitted to Rehabs.com to date, three were negative, one was mixed, and one was positive. Three reviewers cited inadequate help from the center's care coordinators. William wrote that the staff would not help him to transfer to another facility, and Steve added: "Care corodanaters are overloaded and dont have time for clients. Also these people are sneaky and tell half truths."
One reviewer, C.B., also criticized the center's amenities, writing: "Don't believe any of the b.s., there are NO LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS. Nothing to do but eat and smoke."
However, the reviewers also repeatedly praised the center's technicians, and J.B. wrote. "Therapists were the best." And despite some criticism, Steve wrote: "In the end they did a good job getting me sober and tolerating my grouchy butt!"
Arete Recovery has mixed feedback on secondary sites at the time of this writing, with average ratings of 3.2 out of five stars based on 16 reviews on Facebook (where the center can manage its own page) and 4.1 stars based on 27 reviews on Google, plus a five-star rating and two one-star ratings on Yelp.[1] [2] [3]
The positive reviewers repeatedly described life-changing experiences at Arete."Arete changed my life and I am forever grateful. The staff are wonderful people who truly care about each and every client," Riann wrote in a representative comment.
However, other reviewers complained of dishonest practices to get people into treatment, unprofessional treatment once they were admitted, and the center being solely interested in money. "This is a billing facility for young entrepreneurs not a recovery facility. There is nothing good I can say about this facility," Nikki wrote in a representative comment on Yelp.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
