“Long term sobriety is obtainable. Just ask me” “Admission Counseling is simple, it is one person caring and desiring to help another.” I am very blessed to be able to work in this field and watch people of all nationalities and economic backgrounds from across this nation. They come together because, like me they got their butt kicked by this disease, which sometimes forces us to come together for recovery! Because If we don’t do this recovery thing together we die loved but feeling alone. I am here today because someone helped me when I couldn’t help myself and I believe at the core of me that every addict deserves that chance at recovery. I choose to help with compassion, respect, kindness, empathy, sympathy and the truth. It is true that to reach another addict, we must listen to and help them understand the truth. I was run over beat up and kicked in the head by the truth and this made it easier to understand my disease and one day at a time obtain long term sobriety. It is also why I love listening and guiding families and addicts to recovery. If your reading this please know there is not just one path to recovery and I can and will guide you to the best possible treatment modalities to help you obtain long term recovery and relief from the pain of addictions and co-occurring issues. I will be there for you and your family even if you are not ready. If you love someone suffering from this disease; I am here for you. I understand the destructive nature of this epidemic and will answer all your questions and if I don’t know the answer I will find it for you. Helping is what we do for each other and is one powerful way to survive addiction and its effects. I have Twenty-plus years of managerial experience in operations, administration, and counseling. Along with extensive training from the Institute of Advanced Counseling and Seminars, I am a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) and also hold a certification in Intensive Multi-Family Group Training, having co-facilitated recovery groups twice-weekly for the past 18 years. Let’s do this together! You never have to feel alone again.More
I work with clients who are feeling stuck. My treatment focuses on empowerment and coping with daily life. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore, challenge, and create new ideas and behaviors and to build strength and resources. My experience working with individuals from all ages and background has given me insight and experience in how presenting issues are conceptualized and treated to produce change. I am passionate about helping others and getting to the root of problems so change can occur. My educational background includes a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University; a COAMFTE accredited institution. I have a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. When it comes to treatment, there is no single approach that is the right one for every individual, and so I am trained in a range of modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Psychodynamic Family Therapy. I have a specialized interest in addictive disorders such as substance abuse and I have seen the positive benefits therapy has had on individuals and families dealing with substance abuse and I have deep respect and passion to provide services to those in need in the community. I work with clients and their families to shift away from frustration over behaviors and help them navigate the treatment process and engage in recovery on their terms. Recovery is a personal process and journey, and I am honored to be a part of that work.More
