Dr. Martin Newman began working for Aurora West in 2008 at the Chief of Staff/Medical Director and became the Aurora system’s Chief Medical Officer in September 2012. Prior to joining Aurora, Dr. Newman was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a member of the University Physicians Healthcare as a practicing psychiatrist at UPH Hospital’s Kino Campus. He was also the founder and Executive Director of a private outpatient psychological counseling center providing individual counseling, psychometric testing and corporate and forensic consultation. Dr. Newman has been instrumental in orchestrating and mentoring a holistic approach to psychiatric treatment at Aurora. He received his Medical Doctorate at Drexel University’s MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, performed his residency at the University Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
