Beaumont Behavioral Health is run by a group of nurse practitioners who do not have the experience or education level of a psychiatrist. My nephew was diagnosed (previous to his experience with BBH) with Aspergers. He presented to these people with symptoms including oversleeping often, causing him to lose jobs, and spending too much of his spare time asleep. They prescribed him the incorrect medicine. When his mother called to try to get help, the staff could not schedule my nephew in until several weeks later, because they were too busy. My nephew\'s mother did not know how to handle the situation, i.e., whether or not it was safe to discontinue the drug. Ironically, although this facility could not find the time to correct this mistake they made, and insisted he wait two weeks for treatment, in an earlier situation when my nephew\'s mother called to reschedule an appointment, the staff informed her she would be charged for a visit even though she was calling in a timely manner to reschedule. These nurse practitioners are not doctors although they have the ability to prescribe medicine.
