Philosophy

At Women In New Recovery (WINR), women are given the opportunity to engage in treatment for alcohol and drug abuse in a single-gender environment. This type of treatment setting has been proven to reduce the chances of relapse and increase the probability of long-term sobriety. Using a combination of evidenced-based treatment, 20-plus years of experience, and holistic therapies, WINR provides clients with comprehensive addiction treatment in a safe and supportive setting. Upon completion of the program, alumni have numerous opportunities to stay involved and are provided with continuing care support for at least one year.

Was here twice, both times they failed me. No liscenced counselors. I came with multiple prescriptions for antidepressants and drugs I was on for my health, and they completely neglected to fill them for me for over a week. They kicked me out because I was too negative? Who is excited and peachy when they just lost their kids and are in rehab with a bunch of kooks! This place only cares about $$$$. They owed me over 7k and never saw it, never will. They’re probably using it to pay their lawyer fees with all the lawsuits they are facing. Best advice, stay away. There are much better rehabs in Arizona.

This was, perhaps the worst place I could have chosen. If it were my child needing help for an addiction...NEVER would I send her/him there. Chaotic, unorganized, staff, not knowing who is responsible for what. All I heard were the staffs' personal issues. The success of a facility is to NOT have repeat patients. I heard from staff over and over again: "Of course I remember you, welcome back." Really?? You will never see me back!

I Was at the facility for Alcohol abuse from 6/2 - 6/26 of 2019. I'm still in the process of trying to get a refund for over paying out of pocket. They don't answer voice mails or the phone apparently if they owe you money. The facility left a lot to be desired. At $2000 per day I'd expect better amenities. My last week there I had a negative encounter with another patient. I felt unsafe and slept with my room door locked. I let the BHT's know of my concerns and they kept me & her in the same house anyway. I felt the head BHT at the time didn't want to be bothered with rearranging other residents. I left four days early because of this. I think the nursing and counseling staff really cares; Many of the BHT’s also cared a lot. The problems were the with administrators and head BHT. Case in point…still no refund after 30+ days.

This facility was not a match for my son . He doesn’t have insurance and they don’t give scholarships. I did want to let others know how impressed I was when speaking to one staff member. She asked a few questions and was very honest me. She gave me the names and phone numbers of 3 other treatment centers that would be great for my son and she wanted me to call her back to let her know if I found him a place. I appreciate your help so much.

This place is only in business to make money. Choose somewhere else. They don't care if you get help or not they only want your insurance money. They cannot keep staff. It's so chaotic they have had 6 CEOs in less than two years. All the other staff quits too after they realize how poorly the Corporate people will treat them. There are so many other places to go to get help that do it right and care about patients and staff. Please be careful and go somewhere else.

Canyon Vista was the worst treatment I have ever received for my addiction. There is not compassion from staff, on a white board it states Improve patients lives. They did improve my life. Houses are dirty, no program staff untrained and talked about their recovery and sleep on their shifts. Rate this program a zero.

The treatment center is dirty, no patient respect or privacy, men and women love in same houses, techs are untrained and ride to patients, no program schedule, the food by the chief is gross. Not what the sales person told me that they offer. If you want solid trained staff go to a more honest treatment center.

This place guided me back to the authentic person that I was before my addiction took over my life! The classes and Therapies gave me the tools I needed to keep the freedom, integrity and peace that I have today! I am forever grateful!

I stayed at WINR September 3-October 4, 2009. I am grateful for the fellowship of the women to help me build a firm foundation and to learn respect for others and myself. I have 8 years clean and am a productive member of society. Thank you

My parents sent my to a WINR home is scottsdale when I was 19. Worst possible place to send me. It wasn\'t anything near as nice as the pics shown on the site. They were not supportive of my then unknown mental disorder and kicked me out on the street simply because I did not get along with the other girls...From what I recall their whole system is based on tattling on each other. Not for drug abuse, but every stupod thing you can possibly imagine. Like getting out of bed five minutes late. And any of these little things was just one more level to booting you out. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. And no one there cared or helped. Surrounding someone who needs help with nothing but screwed up people to monitor and tattle on them is no way to run a rehab. Do not go or send your family here. You are wasting your time.

A year after I attended WINR, I recieved a bill from a toxicology lab in Texas for $24,000 for drug screens I recieved at WINR, to the tune of $2,100 PER SCREEN. When I called WINR for help, their response was to offer to show me the fine print on a paper I signed ...upon arrival. Do not send yourself here.

WINR, has been the best recovery for my daughter. She was very sick and needed a lot of help, love and direction. Her doctor\'s told me to plan her funeral because they didn\'t think she would make it. At that point I call WINR and told them my daughter situation. We lived 15 hours away from where WINR was, but God made sure we found away to get her to WINR. She was there for seven months and learned a great deal about how to live, love and laugh again. There counselor was the best we could have ever asked for her. The owner show the girls a lot of successful direction to live again, not to be codependent. They teach the twelve step program along with meditation, and prayer. This is exactly what my daughter needed to get sober and stay alive. On May 17th she graduated and not is in there sober living program. WINR gave my daughter hope, life and her family back. My daughter is now happy and uses her tools everyday when needed. I want to thank WINR owe the owner and her staff for everything they have done to help Chelsea and other women in this situation. I also want to than my daughter for listening and opening up to get the help she needed. I would highly suggest anybody with a friend, sister daughter or mother to call WINR so they can get the help they need.

10 yrs ago my precious daughter was in the throes of Meth addiction. She had tried a 30 day program with no luck. On May 19,2006 she courageously left Texas and went to WINR. WINR not only saved her life, but gave her life back to her! She has never look back. Never stumped her toe, which is pretty fantastic if you look at the stats. She has a great career and is living the dream. Thank you Jesus and thank you WINR!

Very Structured. Clients are held accountable at all times. Very strict. it is not a treatment center. It is a halfway house. No on site licensed counselors. All treatment done via AA mtgs and sponsors. Too many clients in too little space. Very overpriced for the facility not actually providing any treatment WINR claimed to have a fairly high relapse prevention rate comparatively on their website. Upon arriving to the program from out of state, I was shocked that it wasn't a treatment center and had no licensed staff our counselors on site, as it's website eluded to. Instead each woman was responsible for paying almost 800 a month. No food provided. Spent endless hours on chores and finding jobs, in order to pay rent, and each resident had to attend an aa or an meeting daily. There was no counseling to speak of, unless each woman went out and found counssling and treatment on their own.

not at all what I expected. I wanted a safe environment that was sympathetic to my needs. We ate ratfeces boiled nightly. They tell you to bring a bathing suit and sunglasses, yet we are unable to use them as there is no swimming pool. This song that does not work. They give you papers almost daily to write an essay on why you messed up whether you did or not. Patty, the owner kicks women out at her will. I happen to know of two women that spent the night on the streets for no reason at all other than... Well I don\'t know exactly why I had to kick them out. But I have talked to them both. and there was nothing available for her to answer as to why. Be prepared for a 4 hour chore every Saturday. We had to go outside in the blazing heat for 4 hours and do what was assigned to us. This is not a rehab. It is a prison. During my stay the director, the counselor, and many other faculty members either got fired or quit in my short stay. She destroyed my anti anxiety medication and kick me out on the streets. thank God I live smart enough to actually bring my car, which she did not like at all. I realized as soon as I got kicked out because of that. Patty is a money hungry woman and her staff will verify that statement. She herself built this operation on cocaine money.please do not buy into this program or allow anybody that you love to go through this torture. By the way, after she gets her money, she didn\'t tells us that we are not allowed to contact any males for two weeks. husband... Beware.

I attended the WINR and kids program (which they currently do not have, but I wish they did). It definitely saved my life. I learned so many life skills that I use every day. I had been using drugs for many years and lost all of my kids. To this day I am a manager and my life is great. Thank you. I have been clean now for 8 years. And for everyone that truly wants to change your life this is the program for you!

My daughter attended this program. She had been to 4 other treatment centers. This program is the best treatment center by a long shot. They said individualized treatment and they meant it. I was able to attend a family group each week where I learned so many valuable skills. I learned to interact with my daughter in a whole new healthy way. They saved my daughter's life.
