Caron Renaissance

Very intensive behavior based treatment. Not for everyone, but it's unique and effective. The transition out could have been a lot smoother. Putting people in a position to effectively address all their problems and deal with underlying issues that one wouldn't know contributes to their addiction. Staff are almost telepathic in their ability to read their patients. There is no help with the transition from a closed environment to the real word. It makes sense since people have to deal with the real world right away, however it feels like a very cold business transaction. Your done paying so you can go now. Even non-profits have a bottom-line I guess.

My ex-fiance went to Caron and is still there in their transitions program. He seemed very positive when I talked to him and really seems to enjoy it there. Good extracurricular activities Staff interaction and communication among each other.

One of the few treatment centers that are willing to focus on parents of addicts. Excellent job addressing enabling and codependency. Their family weekends were very powerful

I credit my life being saved to AA, but the therapists at renaissance definitely played a major role. Yes, the treatment is no joke and I don\'t agree with everything they do. But the alternative (death) is much worse. The clinical director is the most genuine, generous, and caring person I have ever met. I am now in school full time with a 4.0. I have an amazing life. I have my family back and real friends. The therapists at renaissance don\'t just leave their work at the door... my current therapists still reach out to be on a daily basis just to see how I\'m doing. They care. I recommend this place for late-stage addicts and alcoholics. It\'s definitely a last resort type treatment center. For the right patient, it works.

To briefly qualify, I was a patient at CR the Summer of 2015. I rarely ever waste my time reaching out to review anything online, so please understand that I\'m going far out of my norm to implore you to not send your loved ones here. Your daughter/son/brother etc. deserves a chance to get sober with dignity and respect. This place will do ANYTHING to get your money. ANYTHING. They will lie to families. I do not come from wealth. My parents were swindled into paying for this out of fear. I was lucky enough to find a sober house to accept me within 24 hours as they gave me 24 hour notice to leave cause they didn\'t get their money. Effectively, I stood up for what I believe and know to be true; dignity. Moral of the story is that I went to a facility in NH focused upon the 12 steps of AA that does not advertise. They didn\'t baby me, but they treated me human. No more, no less. And I got sober. An alcoholic of the hopeless variety as it is said in the book. I\'m an engineer with a great job, dog and a family that got their son back. Please I beg of you, if you are considering this institution, heed my warning. Your loved one might not be as lucky as me. You must concede to the notion that this could be the last decision you make on behalf of your loved one...
