TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission, clients participate in an initial substance abuse and mental health assessment to help clinicians form a highly individualized treatment program. In fact, clients are expected to help create their own comprehensive treatment plan within four days of residential care.
Hathaway Recovery utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), to help clients identify the link between irrational thinking and destructive behavior. During residential treatment, clients also participate in group and one-on-one counseling sessions, and loved one are encouraged to participate in monthly Family Day programs and either in-person or virtual counseling sessions. Couples therapy is also available as applicable.
In addition, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may supplement core programming to help minimize alcohol and/or opioid cravings. Along with these traditional programming measures, clients also participate in a number of alternative therapies, such as recreational, art, and adventure therapies, as well as mindfulness and stress management practices.
The facility's intensive outpatient program (IOP) involves attending three or four treatment sessions per week, while the rehab facility's partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers clients the daily structure of inpatient care while residing at home. Outpatient-based programs include individual, group, and family counseling sessions, as well as similar holistic approaches offered in residential care.
Hathaway Recovery's treatment team includes medical doctors, which are supported by a team of chemical dependency counselors and therapists. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and an approved member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In California, 18.8% of treatment facilities are accredited by the Joint Commission.
