Meet The Staff

Ryan Gagne
OWNER/ CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Ryan was raised in Hudson NH by a wonderful family, no one would have suspected that Substance Abuse Disorder would shape his life. All activities, hobbies and life ambitions had fell victim to Ryan’s struggle with SUD and found himself in many treatment centers over the years. Finally March of 2008 the message of Recovery stuck with him and he has dedicated his life to helping other people find the freedom and happiness they seek through recovery from drug and alcohol addiction that he has found. Ryan believes completely in treating SUD by treating the Mind, Body, and Spirit. Since then Ryan has maintained and remained extremely active in his personal Recovery. He has also gone back to school for Criminal Justice at Great Bay Community College after only having a 6th grade education. His dream was to go back into the Correctional Facilities and develop models for Rehabilitation to help the people who are incarcerated for SUD related issues get the appropriate help they need. While in school took a job in SUD Treatment and fell in love with the work. Ryan started off by landing a role as a Case Manager, then fell into a Facility Operations Manager role where he worked his way into the Chief Operating Officer. Ryan also has experience being the Director of Admissions and Marketing where he established and maintained both local and national relationships with other Substance Abuse Treatment Providers. In October 2015 Ryan founded Live Free Structured Sober Living which provided highly structured supports and high levels of accountability for highly motivated residents. After seeing a need to have a higher level of care through the deaths around New England Ryan partnered with some like-minded folks and opened New England Recovery and Wellness in December of 2016. The Journey continues…

Joshua New, LCSW, MSW
CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Joshua New is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New Hampshire, as well as holding licenses in the state of Texas. He earned a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of New England specializing in the treatment of addiction services. Joshua has experience developing and managing programs in the private as well as the community mental health areas of service. He has 18 years of experience working with addicts and alcoholics personally and over a decade professionally working with individuals with addiction as well as mental health issues. He is trained in EMDR as well to help more complex issues of trauma. After a history of chronic relapse to substances and multiple treatment episodes and “failed” attempts at long term recovery, he was fortunate to find a provider that believed in a long term care model and was able to develop sustainable tools of recovery and a foundation for continued spiritual growth which he passionately still pursues to his day. He is not only trained in the clinical aspects of treatment that he loves to educate and teach individuals and families about, but he is also passionate about his presentation to motivate individuals about optimizing their life in all areas and teaching people how to be empowered, shedding limiting labels and creating a life second to none. Josh’s holistic approach to treating the whole individual physical, spiritually, and emotionally appears to have the most rewarding effect for those he works with. He started his recovery working in the financial industry working as a licensed stock broker for some years before finding his passion professionally to work and serve people seeking a way out of suffering. In that process he met and married his beautiful wife of 15 years and has three amazing children whom he enjoys spending his free time with whether it be at family functions, playing basketball, swimming at the lake, or going on adventures to other states and cities. He believes no matter what as long as he is with his family and strengthening his bonds with them, life is good. A native of New England he is also an avid sports fan and loves all things Boston, but holds a huge passion for football and enjoying the Patriots during the season with his two boys and daughter. Over the last 18 years working on himself professionally and personally through his own pains and joys in recovery three principles appear to guide him daily in his recovery. Living life on life’s terms and strengthening his faith in his higher power, cultivating gratitude and personal empowerment. His belief has been that Happiness is not a destination, but a creation. One which we control and create daily based upon our own humility to remain teachable and disciplined enough to take corrective action. Years ago he remembers sitting in an indigent detox in Southern California and reading an anonymous quote stenciled on the far wall across from him, that for him began the process of his awakening. It read, “Grateful People Are Happy People and Those Who Aint, Aint.”

New England Recovery and Wellness was very patient and caring when dealing with my loved one. All of the staff I dealt with were passionate about helping and were also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this treatment center as an option for anyone who has dual diagnosis with mental health and substance abuse.

I contacted RAW because I lived nearby and knew I needed help This was in nFeb 2017. VERY FORTUNATELY for me, RAW diverted me to RCA in Westminster MA for a 5-day detox. What a shock it was to leave there and realize this was at best a PHP situation, with the housing 35 minutes away. "Oh, you have to make your own breakfast and dinner". The atmosphere at the house where wee were stored was worse that a frat house. I was stuffed in a room with 2 others, no privacy, just an industrial fluorescent fixture, so no chance to chill and read. The food. the materials were provided. I can think of Kraft Mac & Cheese, nothing resembling a salad, and cereal with whole milk (I can't do milk). Doors slamming as everyone else went outside to smoke. Rap music at full volume on the all the drives. Oh, and we had chores and a completely disgusting shared bath. After one night, I checked out ("against medical advice" of course, though I never met with a medical professional.) Went back to Westminster as soon as they had space and never regretted it.

What an amazing job they did in putting RAW together! I came to NH when there was just a shell of a building and to see it finished was amazing. It is truly a 5 star facility from the inside out. Great staff, very approachable and client oriented. They are always improving on what already works!

I prayed to find a place as great as this. I had been to countless "Hole in the wall" facilities and the care just wasn't there. I came to this facility completely broken and they showed me love and hope that I've never experienced. From the therapy, Amenities, and awesome weekend activities this place has shown me how to live sober and happy finally. Thank you so so much!

Intimacy Therapy Amenities were all strengths. A weakness was that the program is long through all phases This was my first treatment and I couldn't of asked for a better experience. They were warm, loving, and caring. I'm so grateful for New England Recovery and Wellness
