Great
DANGER! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. These 5 star reviews must be paid for and fake. Please let me begin by saying that if you are looking for help, do not let this review discourage, or scare you from getting it. There MUST be real facilities out there who will help you without abusing, and neglecting you. With that said, My husband was diagnosed with stage 3 liver cirrhosis, and gastritis. He has no insurance, so we paid cash money. (On a preschool teacher\'s salary, this was no easy feat.) The facility was made aware of his preexisting conditions and they promised me that the treatment would work around it. (24hr medical care and observation, special diet individually prepared by a chef, therapy, the works) They arranged to have a driver meet us \"halfway\". (we live 8.5 hrs away) The driver drove 2.5 hrs and then yelled at me over the phone because we were 45m late. In hindsight, I should have turned back then. He arrived at the facility, and was not able to make a safe call to let me know he was okay. I sent him with all of his medical paperwork, and they didn\'t even look at it. It was thrown in his bag. They gave him at least 12 different medications without looking at his medical history. He was put into a room with a camera and left there. The exact opposite of what I was promised. I called at least 3 times a day to check on him. \" he\'s doing so great, hes so with the amenities, hes eating well, little anxiety but that\'s normal\" In truth, He was so sick. He couldn\'t stomach any of the food that they gave him (it was not special to his needs or individually prepared.) All his food trays just stacked up in the room, untouched while they told me he was eating fine. i sent him with money to get drinks and things out of the machines or whatever. Apparently the only thing he could buy was CIGARETTES. He went in an alcoholic, and came out an alcoholic smoker. There were NO DOCTORS AT ALL. 24hr medical care is the biggest lie of the whole place. He spoke to a therapist over zoom. The only people there are employees (ex-addicts) who couldn\'t be found most of the time. HE WAS DENIED WATER.. He asked, and asked and they would roll their eyes at him or hang up the phone. With all the medications, and him not eating, he was sick to his stomach. he\'d sit in this room throwing up, diarrhea, miserable, and they would come in the next morning making fun of him. \" Looked like you had a rough night, haha!\" I WAS PROMISED DIGNITY AND RESPECT. So when i finally got to speak to him over the phone, and learned of what they were doing i left immediately on the 8.5hr drive. I had clarified before i brought him that if for any reason he was unhappy if i could pick him up at any time.\"yes of course\" (Thank GOD I got that one in writing.) and when i arrived the next day, they told me that they wouldn\'t give him to me or tell him i was there. I had to contact the police department to get him, and show them that i had in writing that i could take him. After arriving home, I had to take him straight to the emergency room, and he was admitted into the hospital because the gastritis had worsened from all the unknown medication and SEVERE dehydration. Oh, and to top it all off, The credit card i sent him with, and the debit card i used to pay for the treatment were both hacked. had over $500 stolen. Please take this to heart and find a different facility. They are attempting to delete and discredit this review. I speak the truth , and will continue to try and prevent others from enduring their cruelty.

I was a patient at Novus Detox Center back in March. I was mistreated. I was given medicine most commonly given to patients withdrawing from methadone. I asked nurses & as well as techs how & why I was given this medication with no answer from anyone for 4 daysamalcohol & this medicinedays. I am an alcohol & this medicine made me feel like i had drank 2 bottles of vodka. I was falling all over & bouncing again the walls to get to nursing station. Finally upon leaving one nurse said he knew why I was so upset. He said the matter was being taken seriously & had gone as high that the Director was involved. I have proof of this “ mistake “ . I urge anyone thinking about Novus Detox for help look elsewhere, Kathleen Olsen

I came to novus about a year and a half ago. Everything i read about them on their website just isn’t true. This place is a BUSINESS and they make their money off of you. There are no individualized treatment plans. Everything goes through the same detox process and if you complain about certain symptoms they give you “medicine” so you’re not uncomfortable. the entire detox stay, you are on some kind of medication. and when it’s time to go home, you ILL withdrawal. it’s unfortunate that they make it seem like you’re 99% good when you leave. lies. Not only that, most of their staff is atrocious. Particularly the gals working at the front desk. From my experience i’d highly recommend going elsewhere to detox.

Do not go here if you are on a high dose of methadone. I went in doing 200 milligrams a day and they promised me that their "protocol" would work miracles! LOL. I'm sorry but 12 days of substitution drugs sent me into massive withdrawals. I only saw the actual "doctor " once and some of the patients didn't see him at all. Food was decent but for the price you pay each day it should have been better! Boredom was a constant issue. The so called naturals were just placebo to trick your mind. The day I left I told the staff I was not doing okay and they just told me that I would be just fine. That the worst of what I would feel was over...that was a lie!! I got home and was in hell. Restless legs and an internal shake that I could not get rid of. I hallucinated for 4-5 hours. It was bad and scary. For the amount of money I spent at Novus I should have seen the doctor more than once, and definitely on the day I was scheduled to leave. Their protocol for methadone does not work!!!! Do not waste your time and money going here. I am now on suboxone because of these people. I showed my "Detox" protocol to both of my doctors and they just scratched their heads in disbelief. They were stunned to say the least. The tech's were nice and I know they did care, some of the nurses did too. But I truly feel I got ripped off and do not believe the website and testimonials on there. They are lies!!

I went here more than 5 years ago for a low-dose prescribed amount of a benzobuddies I had been given to help me sleep after childbirth. After a year or so, I was having g many side effects from it even though I took the same dose nightly. I had memory loss, fatigue, mild depression, and actual anxiety. As it turns out, I was having normal interdose withdrawal and my nervous system had adapted to the drug. I came to Novus to detox. They simply gave me valium (another, longer-acting benzodiazepine) for about 11 days and some vitamin B IV\'s. They are kind people, but this is not the way \"off\" benzodiazepines. Unfortunately, there is no easy way off of them. And no one right way. Some people slowly taper them... Although this is SO hard. Others cold-turkey or rapid taper them (what Novus tried to do). I came home and fell apart as soon as the valium wore off. It cost me a lot of money to take valium a few states away from my home. It simply isn\'t worth the money because it takes a long time to heal from the neuroadaptatioms that occur from this class of drugs. It took me five more years to recover fully and actually needed a sedating antidepressant that first year in order to sleep after the removal of the benzo. But I was eventually able to sleep again without meds and I healed. Novus is likely a great facility for some classes of drugs, but not benzodiazepine dependency. I did not have an addiction and I was not seeking the drug. I simply had a dependency that formed from taking it as prescribed. I have since taken part in a university study documenting the long term effects of this class of drugs. Several articles and studies exist since my time at Novus, as well as a movie coming out that is a documentary called \"As Prescribed\" that highlights the experiences of people that have been damaged from this class of drugs. I would say they mean well at Novus, but not all drugs lend themselves to rapid detox. And a valium substitution is not worth a trip to a detox facility. Any doctor can prescribe valium in decreasing doses for at-home rapid tapers. Novus IV\'s are simply mostly water-soluable B vitamins which you can take orally. Their injections are simply GABA. There is no magic to any of it. They don\'t help you heal from benzodiazepine dependency. A nurse from Novus said that those that have longer term effects than what Novus can fix had an underlying condition. However, she is simply not educated in the modern science of benzo dependency. Dr. would be a great place to start for benzodiazepine research as well as PubMed for recent research. Novus detox has a simple protocol that you can do at home with valium. However, true healing from this class of drugs will likely still take time on the order of months and years. Respectfully, Novus seems to care. However, they are just not adept at every solution and should not attempt to bill themselves as a solution for benzodiazepine dependency. The only cure is actually \"time\".

Please don\'t waste your money and go here. We were promised our daughter would be detoxed from methadone and they had a great success rate. She would see a counselor and get addiction counciling. They kept her 11 days and released her...She felt good the day she left and quickly went downhill from there. Please don\'t let your loved ones go there. They made many promises that were false. So disappointed. The meals were the only decent thing there.

Official Facility Response
After feeling so well when she left Novus, we are so sad to hear that your daughter is not doing well. Detoxing from methadone is a physical stabilization and return-to-health procedure which Novus is expert at, but should always be followed with a rehabilitation process at another facility. At Novus – we only do detox, but always recommend our patients continue onto rehab. We are sad to hear that your daughter is not doing well. If you contact us, we can help advise you on the next best rehab step for your daughter.

THE BEST! You will not find better! Everyone is different but if this staff and their methods can\'t do it for you I don\'t know who can! I was scared going and I flew from Cali. I would do it again if I had to which I\'m not but I hope that tells you how good they really are. Just make sure to communicate and they will do their very best. Not 95%, 100%! Thank you Novus for my new life home now and still doing great!

Very nice detox center, I arrived and within a couple hours I had meds and was eating dinner. This place is a luxury hotel, The food is delicious and if you don't like it they will make something else if you let them know night before. I was on methadone 50mg and I had hardly any withdraw pain maybe the first night just until got meds, All the natural meds and others they give you really help, I slept and ate every day had no stomach troubles. I HIGHLY recommend this place it was GREAT the best detox experience you could think of. I was amazed with the whole process, The building and rooms are spotless and very very nice,( they were scrubbing the baseboards) This is the place to go for a pain free detox, I am still talking about how nice it was and how the staff treated you with utmost respect, they have all been through what you are and understand what your going through. If you are looking for a great detox you really need to look at Novus, I cant speak more highly of this place. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THEY DONE. They saved my live from the grip of methadone clinic.
