Philosophy

Serving the greater Mississippi area, Oxford provides an individualized treatment program for each of our clients. At Oxford, your treatment won’t be one-size-fits all. We know that every person has a unique story and unique goals for recovery. At Oxford, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan, created for you by our caring and qualified team, that will be tailored to your individual goals and needs. Our continuum of care will ensure that you’ll have every step of treatment you need. Whether you need medical detox, whether you’ll stay in a residential program or attend an intensive outpatient program, and whether you’ll move to a sober living facility after treatment, you’ll find a comprehensive program at Oxford. We offer a wide range of therapies and treatment modalities to help you achieve your goal of recovery. We capitalize on our scenic location near a national forest, and incorporate outdoor activates, such as hiking and horseback riding, into our therapies. We also offer music, art, and trauma-informed therapies, in addition to the usual group and individual therapy courses. We also have a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and dialectical behavior therapy. Recovery involves much more than giving up substances; it involves a whole new way of living and connecting with yourself and others. At Oxford, we have an ideal environment that allows us to provide a whole host of activities and amenities that allow you to connect to nature, reflect, restore your physical health, and reconnect. Whether you want to focus on strengthening your body at our fitness centers, meditate on the banks of our private lake, or work with animals in our equine therapy program, our facility will provide a variety of features to not only make your stay enjoyable but to give you the best possible head start in recovery. While your recovery toolkit will have filled up nicely by the end of your stay at residential treatment, not everybody is ready to move forward alone. Oxford’s aftercare planners and alumni coordinators will make sure you have a plan and a support network for transitioning back into the world after treatment. We also know the importance of making and maintaining a network of sober individuals, so we’ll connect you with local AA and 12-step chapters and with a national alumni network to provide you with a comprehensive support network for recovery.

Good
From my time there, there were a good number of effective treatments/classes and lessons to be learned. However, many needs for patients aren't met and the entire facility, both residential and Resolutions are very unorganized. A good example is when I was to be ready by 7PM to get my ride to the train station in Memphis and when the time came, after all the staff had left, nobody knew about my ride and had to be scrambled at the very last minute, risking me be late to my train. They also have refused to help me get approved for my short term disability during and after my stay, all my insurance needs is a simple fax of my medical information but apparently that is too hard to do. I've contacted everyone from my therapist to the business office and case manager to the doctor (who I've never met)and I either get ignored, told it'll be done, or just get excuses. Not once have they taken the time to even look up my name whenever I'm on the phone. They want to teach me to put my trust into others, but I lost six weeks of pay because I put my trust into them. Strengths: Good activities, good therapist, nice area. Weaknesses: Anything regarding money, organization, and depending on the person, perception of the clients.

I was in another treatment Facility prior to OTC and the difference was glaring. I was treated by the staff with respect and the teachings were very helpful to my recovery. Thorough treatment facility. They didn't have the horses that they now have. LOL

Very poor supervision!! Had a bad experience. The staff failed to protect my daughter then had the audacity to kick her out! Gave me less than 24 hours to fly her home and find another facility.

My nephew was assigned an inexperienced counselor. This was his third threat meant experience. He was in residential, outpatient then sober living for over a year. He dies from an over does a few days after he left a recommended sober living establishment. There was no real treatment for mental health despite Oxfords designation as a dual diagnosis facility.

I am very mixed about this center. I have a loved on who went to this treatment center and has been sober for 6 months. My problem is he never came home. He went to the aftercare and feels he can’t leave. I feel they encouraged him to stay there because he did so well in treatment. He has a wife and I don’t think they ever counseled him to return to his real life. The communication for family was terrible. I would not recommend this place to people needing treatment. I instead would suggest they research places and counselors that work with patients and families. The treatment has been harder for the family in many ways than the addiction. He has left everyone behind and lives in a bubble.

We are sorry that you did not have a good experience with detox. We do have a detox facility on our residential campus in Etta, MS. Patients there, who are detoxing, are monitored 24/7 by medical professionals. Our medical director specializes in psychiatry and addiction medicine and works diligently to manage patients symptoms and to help keep patients as comfortable as possible during the detox process. We do hope that things have improved for you since detox and that you are moving forward and being successful in your recovery.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our facility. We are delighted that he was doing well when he return home, but hate to hear that he returned to his prior ways. Unfortunately addiction is a difficult disease. Patients brains are said to be "hijacked" by their addiction. Please do not hesitate to contact our facility if he is willing and is in need of continuation in his treatment. Best wishes.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry to hear that he relapsed. Unfortunately addiction is a difficult and hard disease. Patients have was has been termed as the "hijacked brain". Please refer to Garry Reifers video about The Hijacked Brain, which can be viewed on youtube for further explanation. We do hope that he will give recovery another try, as addiction is an on going battle, even for those who have been in recovery for years.
