Philosophy

Our mission is to help those who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction learn a new way of life, repair the past and continue the daily process of recovery into the future. Our proven approach to treatment takes into account each client’s background and specific needs. Unlike other facilities, we focus on more than just abstinence; we believe that a successful treatment plan must address the underlying spiritual, emotional and psychological causes of addiction. To this end, we take a holistic, integrated approach to the disease of addiction, by providing customized treatments that focus on the mind, body, and spirit simultaneously.

Testimonials

  • "I liked the structure which Recovering Champions provided, and I learned a lot on how to stay sober. It was a life changing experience. I feel like a champion."
  • "The staff at Recovering Champions welcomed me with open arms and gave me another chance at life. I’m eternally grateful for the experience."
  • "I’ve tried rehabs multiple times. A lot of places I’ve been I felt trapped. I didn’t feel trapped there. This facility was the first facility I didn’t want to leave. They don’t just push clients through and say good-bye. I’m still able to see them when needed. I can stop by whenever because the staff actually care about me. Having a good staff was the most important thing. They showed me how to have fun in recovery. Overall it was a great experience."
  • "October 2nd I will be celebrating 1 year clean and sober. I have never had more than 5 months in my life. I was introduced to a new way of living while at Recovering Champions. The staff, the other clients and lessons taught, have helped me become the dignified woman I am today. I have a sponsor, a home-group and go to a meeting daily. I have a full-time job, I’m saving up for a car and hopefully returning to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor. I have repaired the relationships in my life that matter most."
  • "Recovering Champions’ 12-step approach and great counseling gave my daughter hope for the future and freedom from addiction."

I work for a physician who took on a patient at this facility. Once there insurance benefits changed to an insurance they don't take they washed there hands of him. He was apart of the program for almost 1 year. They put him on medications that you cant just stop taking and they basically said that since you no longer have an insurance that we take we can no longer see you. thrown out of a program without medications is inhumane. If that is how you run your programs you are hurting people trying to stay sober. You are putting adicts on benzos, then throwing them out to the wolfs when there insurance changes with not even an extra pil til they are able to find a doctor to prescribe for them. That is what I call a set up for relapse. Maybe you should take a look at what types of n=meds are being prescribed to your patients. Benzos are alcohol in a pill. There are plenty of meds that can be prescribed for people with anxiety. Im very disappointed in this program. I'm sure you have heard " if you cant help an addict don't hurt them, Looks like once the funds run out they are kicked to the curb. Very dissatisfied with this,

This place is a joke! If you are serious about recovery, find a place where rules actually mean something. From inappropriate relationships between staff and clients to clients abusing meds, this place has it. I certainly would NOT recommend this facility to anyone!

I am a recovering addict and upon visiting the East sandwich location today I was almost driven to relapse by an older, sullen white woman with blond hair and glasses. The lack of compassion and perverse behavior was beyond unacceptable from someone in her position. To say I’m irate is an understatement and I will be disseminating my experience across the web and to everyone I can to spare them the exasperation and and waste of money on such an exorbitant and nefarious facility.

I've never had the opportunity to grow as much as I did at RC. The greatest part is that I've been offered this by staff I looked up to, could relate to, and admired. The staff engaged me right away, nurtured my strengths and encouraged me to identify and battle my weakness'. Most of these weakness' were directly and indirectly responsible for my addiction. From the bottom of my once dark cold heart, which you filled with caution and irrefutable love, I thank the people there for fixing me. To the staff: You were my spiritual guide, I feel I owe you so much for being so kind, welcoming, and engaging. You were my savior in tough times, encouraged me to grow, and have been my light in the darkest corners of my addiction, and carried me when I was too scared to move. You're the best. A guy I can look up to and have some laughs with. Thanks for the simple sayings. I needed those. Thanks for the dedication you've brought me further than any in the past. I owe my life to these people and I only wish everyone could have the opportunity to beat their addiction like I did here. I wish everyone could come here to find their own freedom

In my opinion, Recovering Champions is a superior treatment program. The approach they use from across-the-board professional care, activities, individual treatment plans and nutrition far exceeds Hiwatch Farms in CT which is supposed to be a top notch treatment facility.
