Philosophy

Ripple Ranch at Austin, located in Spring Branch, Texas, offers Non-12-step residential treatment to adults struggling with substance abuse and dependence. The facility is a residential rehab set on a 20-acre Hill Country estate between Austin and San Antonio, Texas. The center offers highly individualized evidence-based care and includes a 12-month aftercare program. Detox services are available but not on-site. The cornerstones of Ripple Ranch at Austin’s treatment program are evidence-based therapies, integrated treatment, and a focus on co-occurring disorders . The basic components of the program are individual, group, and family therapies — the latter in the form of a two-day intensive family program — along with addiction education, life skills coaching, and relapse prevention. Treatment also includes neurofeedback, cranial electrotherapy stimulation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Equine Assisted Mindfulness Group, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), regular exercise and yoga, Tai Chi mindfulness and meditation, breath work, and expressive writing. According to the facility’s website, every resident follows an individualized plan that combines elements of each of these therapies. Finally, treatment at Ripple Ranch at Austin includes a year of aftercare. A Client Care Coordinator is available to speak with alumni as needed.

Meet The Staff

Justin Wolff, LPC-S, LCDC
Clinical Director

Justin Wolff is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 8 years’ experience in behavioral health. Prior to his counseling career, Justin was also a teacher, school counselor, and presenter for parenting seminars. As Clinical Director, he draws on his expertise in the fields of both counseling and education to deliver the exceptional programming offered at Ripple Recovery Ranch. His treatment philosophy is that everyone can be moved forward; it just takes meeting each client where they are at and collaborating with them to find the best way to achieve their individual treatment goals. As a CBT clinician, he leads our team of counselors in helping clients to identify the negative core beliefs that are holding them back from the life of fulfilling recovery they are seeking. In this process, clients recognize core beliefs are not core truths. They are simply what one chooses to believe. The therapeutic process helps clients choose to adopt core beliefs that are supportive of their health and happiness.

Great
Nice house, lots of things to do in your spare time. The techs were not so bad until they would try to get into the drama among the guest. Some times I would get a one on one from my counselor and sometimes I wouldn't. I feel as if favoritism was played a lot. They also promise that your counselor will give you a call after you get out at a week, 30 days, 90 days, then a year. I am still waiting on my call and it has been over a year. I will say that I have not relapsed so something must've gone right.

If you are seeking true recovery, stray away from this place. They bill themselves as a "luxury substance abuse recovery" when in reality, it's just a big house on a lot of property. They bought a residential house and made it a rehab. If luxury equals a twin bed in a shared room, then yeah, its luxury. I had to be detoxed at a separate facility about an hour away after arriving because I didn't meet admission guidelines. This is a residential program ONLY. The "nursing staff" consists mainly of CNAs. The head nurse has a terrible attitude problem as well as a distinct musty odor that is very unpleasant. If you have any issues, don't take them to the Director. The ONLY redeeming quality is the food. The kitchen staff is excellent. Since my stay at Ripple, I have relapsed. After relapsing, I received little support from Ripple. I made my way to another facility and am going on 2 months sober after leaving. Please do your research before signing up for something that appears shiny and pretty. The program itself is pretty awful.

Excellent
Overall, a very good facility with a positive, constructive approach. They approach your given malady from many angles and therefore the patient is more likely to recognize and appreciate his or her situation. I loved it. The 12-step, 28 day lockdown facilities are dated and absurd. Ripple\'s 12 patient maximum, 1 to 4 counsellor/patient ratio is more than wonderful. I would recommend RR Recovery to anyone who is looking for a start to a better/sober way of living.

Staff great. Owners not so much... They seem to go out of their way to avoid you. Always looked guilty, like they were hiding something
