Meet The Staff

Mary Barry Magsamen
Executive Director

Born and raised in Lincoln, Mary has been with St. Monica’s for 14 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human relations and a master of arts in administration from Doane College. She’s also trained as a Doula! Mary and her husband, John, have been married for 30 years and have three children, Meg, Drew and Emma. She loves to bike and walk her dog, Stella, and she has recently become passionate about knitting and felting. “I am proud to be a part of the amazing and life-changing work of St. Monica's for so many reasons: our unique way of giving women a safe place and the tools and support to turn their lives around; that through recovery women are able to parent their children, forever changing the outcome for those children. I am proud to work with so many employees who are here for the same reasons, to help women heal, and find their voices. I am proud of the professionals and community members who are asked to support so many worthy causes, but who choose to serve on our board or as a Friend of St. Monica's. I have always felt that St. Monica's is very much like family, and I'm so proud to be a part of this family.”

Rebecca Roberts
Director of Development

A relative newcomer to St. Monica’s, Becki’s previous lives include serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco and working as a newspaper editor. She enjoys traveling, bicycling, gardening, and playing with her niece and nephews. “I absolutely love working in an atmosphere where women are discovering and building their inner strength every day. St. Monica’s is the source of so much growth.”

The staff lacks education and compassion. Some of them are barely out of treatment. They do not know what they\'re doing. I have stayed clean and sober for many years but it is despite my experience there, not because of it.
grud rehab. too many people. just a long waiting list.
