Philosophy

We believe addiction is an issue of the heart. When a man is living in the fullness of his calling, knows his purpose, & understands God's vision for his life he is unlikely to use substances. We believe addiction starts as an attempt to medicate a wound. Usually that wound is something based in deep pain, shame, or fear. Most often it has been suppressed for so long that it is hard for the addict to recognize the effect on his life. We believe that these wounds/deeper issues of the heart are the things that need to be addressed for true freedom from addiction. Spiritually, we introduce men to a God that loves them unconditionally. Mentally, our licensed therapists help them sort out the tangles in our clients lives & offer new solutions to their struggles. Physically, Our Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors address the nuts & bolts of addiction. They educate clients about the physical effects that drugs & alcohol have on our lives. They also address how to identify triggers & manage cravings. Ultimately we believe freedom is found in Christ. At Stonegate, God uses willing men He has equipped to speak the truth in love in to restore sanity to the broken.

As a former client (Summer 2017) I\'ll share how far Stonegate Ctr will go to assist an individual enslaved to alcoholism. James met me at DFW and drove me to Baylor Scott & White Dallas for 72 hours of medically monitored detox. On the following Monday morning, Dusty met ne @ BSW Dallas and drove me to Stonegate Ctr. Stonegate assighed me a roommate (mentor) who had been there for 70 days. As a 1st time rehab patient, this was a huge blessing! A mentor with their heart in the program to show me the ropes & answer my questions about day to day living, etc. Big Mike, Satchal & Jacoby would met with me for individual counseling. My 60 days at Stonegate was a safe and controlled environment for me to begin building a personal foundition of sobriety, within 24 hour increments of time. During this 60 days, I never searched for a \"Silver bullet\" because I knew they don\'t exist. I did go into Stonegate with the resolve of \"I\'ll get out to it what I put in to it\" with the staff showing me the way. I pushed forward each day, while \"eating the hay and leaving the straw.\" The Lord God answered my prayers during my time at Stonegate. I was powerless to stop drinking due to my cravings. My cravings were like fire, which is never satisfied and always wants more. I was powerless, but still had to make the personal decision fhat I wanted to stop drinking. When I surrendered my desire to drink to the Lord, He supernaturally took away my desire and cravings. Surrendering this to God was like a P.O.W. held captive for 35 years being liberated and set free. This happened for me on site at Stonegate during the Summer of 2017! After walking over the bridge, I went to a sober living facility in Fort Worth for August 2017. I wanted to do this!! I wasn\'t ready to cross the Bridge and 3 hours later land on a plane back in my old world. I wanted this transitional time between Stonegate (Super safe & controlled environment) and my old real world setting. This \"time\" was a good investment for my recovery. Stonegate Center is a top shelf first class facility for anyone who truly desires obtaining and maintaining sobriety. But bottom line, at the end of the day you have to want this for yourself. Since leaving Stonegate, I have 35 months alcohol free. While the Lord God took away my cravings, it has been my responsibility to choice to stay away from the first drink, for today. My yesterday is dead and gone. I\'m not promised a tomorrow. So for today, I choose to stay away from the first drink. Stonegate had a huge positive impact on my life.

Words can not express my gratitude for Stonegate. They were able to hhelp my daughter when I could not no matter how hard I tried. The overall case management was amazing. Julia always keep in touch with me at the sametime respecting my daughter's privacy. They addressed ever need she had. This took so much off me so I could work on myself. They do not stop assisting when your 90 days are up. They truly assist with aftercare. Thank you so much for helping my daughter and our family.

The program director and executive director have absolutely nothing to do with the clients except to show up for one hour a day 3 times/week to chew out the clients. There is absolutely zero medical staff. They have a P.A. as their lead medical "doctor" and he is only there for 2-3 hours ONE TIME a week. He's incompetent. The LVN nurse that is there is extremely incompetent and is very rude. She is lazy. The living conditions in the mens facility are very poor. The facility's rooms are infested with bed bugs. The clients are made to "deep clean" the facility one time per week. The cleaning supplies are old and disgusting. Clients are required to cook breakfast 7 days a week, clean dishes for the entire population and staff after every meal using 2 small residential grade sinks, of which one has a broken garbage disposal. The "programming" is run by RAs with less than 2 yrs. sobriety. Only out of AA book. No professional lectures. Go to outside meeting 2 times in 90 days. Counseling sessions offered for one hour per week. Staff lies to family members about the client's wll being and progress in the program. The staff strongly pushes the company owned sober living facility to EVERY client, regardless of their situation. Phone calls are offered one time per week for a total of 15 minutes. The call is done on speaker phone with a staff member listening to the conversation and taking notes. If the client says anything negative about the facility, or asks to be picked up, or if the conversation is deemed "negative" then the staff member immediately hangs up the call with no explanation to the person on the phone. If you wish to leave the facility early, you are not given a phone call for your family to pick you up. The staff makes you take all of your belongings with you and walk out of the facility. The nearest store is at least 10 miles away. Between the refusal of phone call and made to walk for hours on end, the facility makes it almost impossible for you to leave on your own free will.

Stonegate Center is a hidden gem for the DFW community. This place is perfect if you need to send your son or daughter, husband or wife, or any family member to treatment but don’t want them to be too far from home. I think their slogan is even “quality treatment that’s close to home“. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They will challenge you with some Toughlove but it’s all worth it in the end. Their alumni network is deep throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. You’re in good hands here.

I worked with the facility to implement their new phone system and really enjoyed working with everyone there. They have a very professional and caring staff. They have beautiful facilities and the property is gorgeous - I would have mistaken this for a weekend retreat location. I highly recommend getting in contact with these folks if you have a loved one in need of professional care to get their lives back on track!!

This place is amazing!!!! It’s big and beautiful, so far away from the hub of the city and yet full of accommodations! The program that’s being worked here is so well thought out, the staff is helpful and friendly, the facilities are state of the art!!! It feels more like summer camp than rehab, plus months of hard, spiritual, mental, emotional and physical work.

Stonegate Crnter is worse than ineffective. It is dangerous! They use treatments they are unlicensed to use. Try to find a place where people are compassinate about saving lives. 🌙, even if they decide not to treat you.

Do not attend this facility - do not send your loved ones here. This facility engages in dangerous, unlicensed use of narcotics. My sober daughter was administered dangerous narcotics and other drugs. She was led to believe, as was I, that the narcotic they gave her was safe. When my daughter exhibited side effects that warranted emergency care, she was not taken to a hospital. She was unable to call her family for help. I was never told the severity of the side effects and did not know all the medications she was administered until AI received the pharmacy bill AFTER she was no longer in Stonegate. Instead of seeking medical attention for my daughter as soon as she needed it, Stonegate waited until the next day after they received my final payment of $13,500 to transfer her to a hospital to be “stabilized”. It took this hospital 6 days get my daughter mostly detoxed from the Sebutex, Suboxone that was administered to her by Stonegate. My daughter is still suffering physical and mental effects from Stonegate’s actions. She was in the facility less than half the time that we paid for and now that she is not there no one from Stonegate has called to check on her. No one I have called at Stonegate will answer my calls. These people are clearly in this business only for the money. They are not concerned about the well being of the people they have in their care. Do not waste yours or your loved one’s precious recovery time here. Sometimes we only have one chance to get a loved one into recovery and so it is imperative to choose a facility that will be effective in their treatment and care. I don’t know if my daughter will ever trust a treatment facility again. Stonegate was told during the admission process that the reason my daughter wanted to go there was because they were dual diagnosis and the psychological help was what was most needed to prevent her relapsing into addiction. They were also told that she was not addicted to opiates. So their treatment “pan” totally ignored everything that was discussed and agreed to during admissions.

If you like being subjected to public verbal abuse, paying lots of money but still being like a slave to them doing every chore on the property and dealing with young guys on power trips, and lastly the most aragant snooty head of counseling then you just go here. Let me break this down to you, if you think your gonna get any help with withdrawal symptoms forget about it, it’s cold turkey or they ship you to a public mental hospital. Now , your day will begin at 6am every day to go meet for prayer and meditation and they say it’s not required but miss it and see how you are treated. After that , the kitchen group has to cook breakfast for all patients and staff and wash all dishes. Then you meet down stars where an x addicted named Austin walks around like he is the boss of all bosses laying down the law for the day and calling people out. Another loud mouth awhile named Austin is hooting and haulering like drunk red neck , by the way this guy is your advocate to the outside world and good luck with trying to ask him a question. After this it’s chore time, each group deep cleans everything then you go to class. So you are in class basically until the evening going over the 12 step book, every single day and doing packet work and studying for each step test. You do get a little bible study and class with the trainer/counseler, this man is the best thing about stonegate. And you do small process group with the therapist, this isn’t so bad unless you have Satchel, just picture a guy who was probably picked on or had no friends but now has power over people. Now the best part, three times a week you have community, this is where all your brothers you are in there will sit in a circle and you are forced to come up with three things to say to someone that hurts them and embarrassed them and if you don’t, they will just sit there all day or threaten to kick you out. The hnic, Will Story is probably the worst, he acts caring and supportive to your face but then in community he thrives on making you look and feel stupid, This could involve getting your empty bags and throwing them at you feet and saying your gone, or threating to talk to judge or da so you go to prison if you have legal issues but worst of all, I witness him multiple times talk so much crap about a person that just completed their 90 days but didn’t go to Stonegates sober living. Literally the day before he is giving a ceremony celebration for the dude for graduating then the next publicly say what a dumb a or piece of crap they are. Don’t forget in between all this you are cleaning inside and out or cooking or washing tons of dishes. The weekends are basically deep clean chore time plus cook every meal and do more classes , but you also get to deal with a 21 year old kid with a serious attitude and chip on his shoulder but he has power. I witness this awhole who was friends with one of the guys and new intamite things about him, call him out and put him in center of room for something they called theater of a lie, this is where they encourage you to use private things you know about a person and basically make fun of them, then after it’s over they put you on a silent contract where you can’t say a word for 24 hours. This is all justified by them when you ask what the hell , they say it’s all Christian based , it sure is interesting how that is used to justify all kinds of things, to be honest it felt more like a cult.

This place was the worst experience of my life. I struggle with alcoholism and decided to take action and get help. I initially went to another facility to detox and had a horrible stay. I witnessed a man suffering with schizophrenia literally make everyone's life a living hell. My wife did some research and told me I should attend Stone Gate when I got released from detox. I eventually did a pre-assessment with intake or "the shady salesman" who absolutely sold me on choosing Stone Gate for my in-patient recovery treatment. The man told me I would be bonding with and riding horses daily which is a distinct therapeutic way to approach recovery. This man told me there was a beautiful lake on the property in which I could fish and spend quality meditation time. This man lied through his teeth to get me in that horrible place and to get whatever his commission is on my $1,000 a day. When I arrived at Stone Gate a young cocky 19 year old kid inspected my bags while blowing vapor in my face. After the 2-3 hour long process of getting my bags ripped apart and sitting down with the intake lady, I was lead to my quarters. I was put in the room called "the barracks". This room smelled like feet and consisted of 5 bunk beds which slept 10 men. My jaw literally dropped. I was in shock at the living conditions. I was unable to sleep a minute due to the fact that they brought in a meth addict who had only detoxed for 2 days and was throwing up and screaming all night. The first morning I met with their Nurse Practitioner who informed me she would be prescribing my meds. I asked her if I would meet with the Psychiatrist (who the intake criminal said I'd meet with) and she laughed and said "You're talking to her". No disrespect but an NP is not an MD. The days were long and the treatment was a joke. The Clinical Director and his staff were ridiculous. They cursed like sailors and didn't seem to have a clue. They would literally drop the "F Bomb" during our Bible study. I am a Christian and couldn't believe how disrespectful that was. There is no way any of the counselors were/are qualified to treat any of the patients in that facility. They are there to receive their paycheck and bow their chests at us addicts. I didn't hear one thing from them that could help me in my recovery. I can go on and on about this but need to move to other things. Buddy with the beard who ran the place was a universal prick. Him and his skinny jean wearing clone were as arrogant as the sun is hot. They hungered for drama and made us pull up our roommate's in a circle session 3 times a week. This process is called "Community". Basically it was a chance to get everyone feuding and fighting and allowed the 2 arrogant clowns to pick apart their prey. I wanted to drive an overhand right through both of their faces as they ridiculed and reprimanded the weak. Not only was I dealing with all this non-sense, but I was also told we can't talk to our family until being there for 14 days and can only make that phone call on a Sunday. On top of that you can only see your family after you have been there for 31 days. I am married and have a young baby! There was no way that would work for me. There wasn't anything like the intake criminal said there was going to be. We don't ride horses and you're not aloud to go down to the little creek on the facility. Oh the lies!!! I finally had enough of this place and decided to leave on my 6th day. I asked for my bags and they refused to comply with my request. It took over 3 hours of battling with these jokers to finally get my stuff. The clinical director came and tried to use his clinician skills to get me to stay. Buddy said I wanted to leave so I could drink and was trying to push my buttons in everyway possible. I finally told him I was starting to get angry and assured him it was in his personal best interest for that not to happen. My bags were finally handed over to me. I hiked several miles to the gas station and tried to call my family for a ride home. Of course the liars got on the phone and told my family that I was crazy and wanted to leave so I could drink. They coached my family to not answer their phones and said he will eventually work his way back. Needless to say I got a ride home and explained to my family the truth of the whole situation. I was able to get into an inpatient facility in Grapevine which was the best thing to ever happen to me. I have remained sober and am now receiving IOP treatment along with AA. DO NOT EVER GO TO STONE GATE. These people are not qualified and are criminals.

Very Good
The accommodations are excellent. The food is better than some 4 star restaurants. They truly do have a chef preparing the meals. That having been said, I do not recommend this facility at all. I was not aware that this is a 12 step program until I checked in at the facility. I knew very little about AA before this. I was almost immediately assigned a "mentor". This person (who is truly very caring, knowledgeable, and sincere) was going to assist me in getting and remaining sober. This sounded great except for the fact that he was a patient in the facility and he was in his fourth trip through rehab. That didn't inspire my confidence in the effectiveness of the program. In fact, of the 25 or so people in the facility more than 20 were repeat customers ( I do not mean to insinuate that they were all repeating treatment at this particular facility). I realize that the AA 12 step program has assisted an untold number of people over the years, however, it is not for everyone. Judging from the history of most people in the program when I was there, recidivism is a major problem. One person in the program told me he was in rehab for the 18th time. Most of the sessions amounted to being told that alcohol and drug addiction is bad and can destroy your life. Really? The staff emphasized that they WERE NOT able to solve my alcohol problems and that I WAS NOT able to solve my alcohol problems - only God could solve my alcohol problems. At $1000 a day (At this point I will say that Stonegate has an excellent relationship with my insurance plan and my cost was only about $100 a day) I believe a free AA program would be a better value - especially since ONLY God can solve alcohol and drug addiction problems. The Bible study sessions amounted to a staff member reading a chapter and turning the conversation loose. There was no Bible STUDY. There was Bible reading and some conversation about what the passage meant to each individual. I realize that the Bible can speak to individuals in different ways but there is also a correct interpretation of passages and the staff members do not appear to have any training in this field. In fact, they appear to have very little true knowledge of the Bible. Because of paperwork or miscommunication some required medication was withheld from me during the first three days I was at Stonegate. This resulted in my blood pressure rising to a dangerous level. The most disgusting part of my stay at Stonegate was the language used by the staff members. The 12 step AA program is centered around God. I am no prude. There is no curse word I have not used. But, I don't need to hear the staff spewing phrases like "GD" and "MF" during the classes - even during Bible study. When I approached one of the higher ups about this it was indicated to me that I was being judgmental. Apparently the staff is allowed to use the most obscene language imaginable as long as it is followed by the phrase, "Excuse my French". Stonegate has 45, 60, and 90 day programs. Numerous times, as someone neared the end of their stay, I saw the staff pressure that person to extend their stay. Even the people who were nearing the end of a 90 day program were encouraged to enter a "half-way" type of facility. I wonder if Stonegate is associated with any of the facilities they strongly recommended. Another portion of this program was particularly offensive. Every Tuesday and Thursday everyone is required to assemble in one of the classrooms. Each person is required to criticize three things about their fellow patients. It can be three things directed at one person or one thing directed at three different people, etc. There are many people (especially newcomers) who feel extremely uncomfortable openly criticizing another person in a room full of people. One exception - the staff is off limits to criticism. If a person doesn't come up with three things they are hounded by the staff until they comply. This is very abusive and, in my opinion, counterproductive. It also contradicts Biblical truths. The staff has no way of knowing what damage this can do or how any one individual will respond. Having a drug or alcohol problem is stressful enough without being subjected to such an abusive situation. Also, this appears to be the session that the staff seems to enjoy the most. In my opinion this facility is run by unqualified amateurs. If Stonegate averages 25 people a day it will make $9,125,000 in one year. Not a bad take for amateurs. I would never recommend this facility to anyone seeking recovery.

When we initially drove up I was surprised at the poor boy facilities . The prices charged had certainly suggested otherwise. Hoping that they had channeled the funds instead toward recruiting excellent personnel , we were soon disappointed in this regard as well . It is staffed by a bunch of unseasoned young men who really don't understand leadership or motivation. If you are thinking about this place , keep shopping .

This place is nothing more than and interment camp as i right this i am over 2 years clean and sober. The only Benefit i received from this , was i now have a debit card which is being used by one of the employees and my credit score was dropped from a 756 to a 650 because they did not take care of medical bills. Their whole approach is they will break your will and make you surrender. They take every thing you have away including medication(I am Diabetic and was refused needed insulin fornm the moment i arrived) and control every aspect of your life supposedly for 90 days by some miracle i was cured in 23 days. Amazing right guess we know who\'s will was broken and who surrendered and who ever reads this and removes it from public view you might want to know i will see very Rat Bastard who was involved in my joyous time there on his knees before i am done. You people crossed a line with me, you should never have even crossed. And i will have my revenge in this life or the next And everyone Have a lovely Sober Day............James Clay Hopkins

This is a 90 day, residential treatment center for chemically dependent adult men. We are located in eastern Parker County on 8 acres and are configured for 32 beds in our 10,000 square foot facility (less than 25 minutes from Downtown Ft Worth and less than 35 miles from D/FW airport). We offer a state licensed, Twelve Step program that is carried out in a community setting utilizing large group, small group, and individual therapy. The Big Book and The Life Recovery Bible serve as the primary texts used for Step Studies. We are equipped to deal with co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bi polar, and the list goes on. Our Life Skills program covers Communication Skills, Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Coping Strategies, Stress Management and Time Management. As these men arrive at our center, we look forward to getting to know them as we address both their clinical needs as well as the deeper issues of the heart from a Christian worldview that is rich in both relationship and grace.

The Christ centered approach to recovery allows for a greater spectrum of healing and recovery. The length of treatment being 90 days allows for a fuller recovery. The male-only demographic prevents distraction so that clients are able to fully focus on recovery. Unfortunately, no In-network benefits and no strict psychiatric care. Stonegate is a place for adult males to experience full, lasting recovery from substance abuse. It has successfully helped men heal from deep heart wounds for years and will continue to do so in the years to come.
