Philosophy

Transitions offers a second chance at life for people who have lost hope in themselves. We restore this hope by giving them the tools they need to live as sober and productive members of our community. We restore hope to families by educating them on the disease of addiction and facilitating discussion between them and their addicted family member. We restore hope to the community by offering a safe place for those seeking treatment and by providing daily meeting space for practicing members of recovery groups like Alcoholics Anonymous.

They provide a greatly needed service. Very busy; though most participants are court ordered more staff would be helpful. They provide adequate services in a high needs area.

group meetings were good, staff not trained for the type of work, too lax on rules lack of control. If looking for treatment, check staff training, adherence to rules, know what you want and NEED, this is serious not summer camp. after care a must, each case is different and must be treated as such

Good
Family oriented center. I stayed with my children while receiving help which I believe is great. Not enough resources and/or help with all the issues dealing with addiction. Not the greatest experience, but I wasn't the best person at the time either. I do believe the intention of the Wrap House is to help people.

Location is a dump. Understaffed.Staff not professional. Lucky to get a good meal. No shade trees in the back,no type of recreational activities. Oh boy watch 2 trains go by at the same time. Just a filthy area. Pregnant women live on the 3rd.floor. Not allowed to sit on shaded front porch. Jail is a better place than here.

It helps keep them off the streets long enough to get clean. They only keep them off the streets 30days before they let them go back to day to day activities. It helped my loved one a great deal. The family classes are nice. It could be cleaner. Offer better meals. And keep them in for more than a month before sending them out to work to pay 'rent'

Transitions does try to do the best job they can do... The agency has many genuinely caring staff but also has staff that are not qualified for the job. They are also under staffed. Staff are not provided the basic tools necessary to do their best job and are often required to attend to matters that do not fit into their job description leaving them less time to do their actual job. There are multiple facilities nearby that seem to have more effective treatment approach.
