We found Geoffrey’s story to be as colorful and detailed as his tattoos. As a young man, he discovered the therapeutic qualities that music brought to his life. This led him to the Orange County music/club scene, a scene that featured drugs and alcohol. A veteran/survivor of a seven-year battle with drug addiction and a Treatment Center graduate, Geoffrey currently has ten successful years in recovery. His dangerous path did uncover a new direction and focus. Profoundly dedicated to carving out a career in the field of substance abuse, he has earned an Associate Degree in Human Services and is actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. With over eight years of experience in counseling and lecturing on Chemical Dependency, Geoffrey has developed a great understanding of and appreciation for the importance of educating addicts in relation to the biological, psychological and social dynamics of their disease. Armed with this education, recovering addicts discover the strength and ability to steer clear of the trappings of relapse.More
At Tree House Recovery in Costa Mesa, our 90-Day Treatment Program teaches our residents that being physically fit and strong, along with comparable psychological health, paves the way to healthy behaviors, good decisions and, ultimately, to sobriety. Knowing that, finding an ideal candidate to fill the position of Physical Empowerment Director deserved to be at the top of our priority list. And, while our search connected us to plenty of good people, we were looking for much more than “good”. We wanted someone who could “talk the talk” AND “walk the walk”. Neil Trusso is that person for us. With a rich and impressive history as a college athlete, a US Navy SEAL Team member, a triathlete, a tactical gear designer, the holder of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and the founder of a Film Production Company, Neil most certainly has proven that he can “walk the walk”. The men at Tree House, under Neil’s guidance and mentoring, will be able to explore and discover untouched and untapped depths of inner strength and physical health. Once uncovered, these lessons taught by Neil will provide our residents with a solid foundation for the construction of a clean, sober and nourishing life.More
George Coleman is the creator of the “ Naked Writing Program “ at Tree House Recovery and he is the man who will be personally directing and guiding our residents through every phase of that program. In addition to the fact that George has designed an excellent “ expressive writing “ regiment of assignments for the men at Tree House, he comes to us with an unusually impressive array of accomplishments and strength of character that are particularly well suited to our goals. While building an unblemished history of over 25 years of being clean and sober, George has provided mentorship and advice to hundreds of men and women seeking to understand their journeys into sobriety. Also, as a survivor of three combat tours as a US Military Intelligence specialist in Asia, a long roller coaster ride with PTSD symptoms, a bad marriage and an extensive career as an addict/alcoholic, George endows Tree House with a staff member that the residents can connect with and relate to on a wide variety of levels. At Tree House, we understand that the overall success of our Program ultimately lies in the hands of our staff and their ability to communicate our message and mission. In our aspirations to have a positive and lasting impact of the lives of the men who come through our doors, we are fully aware of how fortunate we are to have enrolled George in our vision.More
