I cannot thank Turning Point enough. My life was turned around in the style and grace that I am used to in my home. The facilities were so beautiful and the mountain setting created peace and serenity. Most of all the therapy sessions we were allowed in residential got me to talk about the underlying issues that kept me in my disease. The kinder/gentler manner that was afforded me by all of the staff changed me for the better. I went 1 month in residential and certainly wished I'd of stayed longer now. 2 months in Day Treatment, again the kindness of the staff was so amazing. I learned a new lifestyle on a daily basis and made great friends which most have stayed sober or returned after relapsing. Myself I just celebrated 2 years of sobriety March 24. I feel like it is hard for a lot of people, including myself, that accept addiction as a true disease. Turning Point helped me see that I am Ok just as I am. In Day Treatment I worked through many hard issues, that saved my life. Then it was on to IOP, for 2 months. It was hard work but staff made being sober a happy time. I am forever grateful and dedicated to Turning Point. THANK YOU!!

I will never know the details of my son's 45-day inpatient stay at Turning Point because he relapsed within 3-days after leaving, possibly the very day he left. Then he killed himself within 10 day of returning home.

BDL, I am so very sorry for your loss. I realize there is little I can say on the internet to adequately address your grief, but would welcome the opportunity to have a more personal dialogue with you. I hope you see this response and contact me at your convenience. When clients & loved ones lose their battle to substance abuse and mental health it is a terrible thing for everyone. To the best of my ability I will try to help provide whatever information will help you understand the passing of your son. Sometimes the patient privacy laws are as frustrating for us as providers as they are for family members. Again, my deepest condolences - Chris Mackintosh, CEO, Turning Point Centers, 801-576-0745, chrism@turningpointcenters.com

My son attended the residential rehab, the intense outpatient and the day treatment at Turning Point. He loved the counselors and therapists. He did very well in the program.

I had a great experience at Turning Point. The staff was amazing and helped changed my life. I'm coming up on 3 years sober. None in my opinion Turning Points has a beautiful facility with a very friendly staff. I found the treatment to have a great balanced agenda that help me move past a very dark point in my life where I'm extreamy happy now. After years of trying to do it on my own I decided to get help. If you or a loved one are considering going here I can assure you you will have no regrets.

Professional and educated therapist. Facility overview of wanting to engage the client and their family to understand how the addicted brain works. Food could improve, there is always something if you are hungry. Housekeeping staff need to come at least twice a week. Outside activities need to be more varied and include the clients input. I had a wonderful experience for something I did not want to admit. I entered with shame and remorse. With caring staff I was able to understand how I was blocking myself from growth and not being the person I wanted to be.

Non-12 Step approach, master level therapists, 3 individual one-on-one sessions per week, great group session, beautiful facilities in awesome locations. Sunday is the only family visitation day Turning Point Centers saved two of my closest friends lives! One is celebrating 3 years of sobriety and the other has just reached 1 year. Both have expressed they could not have done it without the help of TPC and they're amazing program and staff.

The counselors are great and knowledgeable. The facility is beautiful and well equipped. The meals were excellent. My son had great experiences in the outside activities. Most importantly, Turning Point dealt with his mental health issues that were causing the substance abuse problems. I thought every member of the staff really cared about him and his recovery. I wish I could give some critique of a weakness in Turning Point but there is nothing that we encountered that would give me any reason to not recommend this facility. Our main reason for choosing Turning Point was that it was not 12-step.. My understanding as I did my research was that with most stays at a 12-step facility, the client does not get through the 12 steps and is usually required to continue on somewhere learning how to implement those steps to recovery. I liked the program at Turning Point that combined his mental health issues with the substance abuse. I also thought my sons counselors were very qualified and we had great family sessions which were a big part of our concern about him. I also wanted him to have plenty of one on one time with his counselor. He received 3 sessions a week.

I cannot express my gratitude to the staff at Turning Point. My brother has been in several other programs that were all cookie cutter and extremely ineffective. Turning Point tailored the program to my brothers needs. They took the time to truly get to know him and understand the root of his problems which allowed him to finally start dealing with them.

One year ago today I decided it was time for me to stop taking pills and drinking everyday. I enrolled in Turning Points 30 day out patient program. It was a very humbling experience. When I first started I new I had a pill problem but I was in denial about my alcoholism. After a few group therapy sessions and some one on one I realized I was an alcoholic and I was able to start working on that problem. Turning point gave me the tools to apply in my everyday life. Without the help of there therapist I seriously doubt that I would have stayed sober very long. It\'s amazing how much easier my life is with drugs or alcohol! To anyone out there that is considering rehab, I would highly recommend Turning Point.

Turning Point Centers saved my life, period. That\'s the reason I went there. Not for some fancy rehab experience. I had been to two other treatment centers and found that both of them were just AA on steroids with some superficial counseling and a fair amount of \"you\'re not doing it right\" thrown in for good measure. That didn\'t work for me after 10 years of trying to get clean. I had an enormous amount of guilt and shame along with a lot of thinking errors that just kept getting in the way. At Turning Point I really felt valued as an individual and that my perspective mattered, and I was able to let go of a lifetime of suffering. In groups and counseling sessions is where the program really counted. When I walked out the door I knew I had left my addiction behind. The food was good and the activities were fine, not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. At the end of the day I am sober and healthy because of this program and the fact it has amazing staff that authentically cared about my well being. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and have stayed in touch with the owners since 2008, who actually are great people and not just in it \"for the money\". If you need help and want a non-12 step program then go to Turning Point!

I am not even sure where to start. Turning Point Centers helped my loved one find himself, his life and his way back from a very dark place. They also healed my family when I felt like it was falling apart. When I got a phone call that this family member needed help, there was so much fear that came out as anger, shame and blame. \"How can my son be an addict?\" \"Where did I fail him as a father?\" \"Why would he choose drugs over his family?\" The anger kept growing this family member fell into the trap of despair. His heart was broken; he was terrified of the thought of losing his son and didn\'t know what to do. Although he was in despair, he was also uneducated about the world of addiction and just thought his son could \"just say no,\" and “stop at any time.\" This is when I reached out to one man who worked extensively with my family. This was not an easy task, call after call and conversation after conversation, he showed how much he cared about the wellbeing of not only the loved one suffering with addiction, but my family. Treatment finally took place. I cannot thank him enough for working so patiently with my family. I know that fear must have come out as anger in more than one conversation over the phone, and he may have felt that from my family, but I saw the tears, the heartbreak and the sorrow- thank you for not giving up. The admissions department at Turning Point cares so much about each and every one of their clients, without his patience and caring heart, I don\'t know where my loved one would be today. Once in the center, the therapists were incredible. I would hear from my loved one several times a week. His therapist was professional, nurturing and pushed him to see his worth and find himself. The repair that happened was incredible. Not only did my loved one express the desire (to me) that he wanted to be sober, but he also expressed several times how hard, AND amazing, his sessions were with Natalie. The non 12 step approach is so beneficial. The therapy helped him understand why he turned to using and what he had been missing his whole life. His therapy with his therapist helped him discover parts of himself that he had forgotten about. He described feeling whole again. His therapist had a solid aftercare plan for my loved one and he just graduated from the program. He was in the program for 1 year. We got our loved one back, he got himself back. The whole programing at Turning Point is wonderful. As a loved one, I have been blessed to be a part of the journey. Thank you, thank you, from my whole heart, thank you.

I am forever grateful to Turning Point for helping me not only helping me recover from my addiction, but helping me find peace with the person I am. All of the staff members that worked with me were compassionate and made me feel like I was being treated with dignity. While the group therapy was undoubtedly beneficial, the most helpful part of the program by far was the individual therapy. The CBT approach in combination with the amount of individual therapy (3 sessions each week), gave me insights into my beliefs and emotions that I had never thought possible based on my previous experiences. I entered the program with almost no awareness of how I felt, other than I felt terrible all the time. I left with not only an understanding of why I felt the need to use drugs, but also why I had felt a lack of self worth for such a long time. I still carry this knowledge with me today and I think, with the guidance from the staff at this facility, it is a huge part of the reason I am still sober nearly five years down the road. Thank you to everyone at the facility who was a part of my time there.

Wonderful Medical staff. I am so thankful to everyone at Turning a Point. They gave me the tools to take my life back and my kids and husband their mom and wife back. They taught me how to be successful in my recovery. They motivated me and believed in me even when I didn't fully believe in myself. They were truly my turning point!

The cold-hearted approach doesn\'t always work on everyone. Not leaving messages of encouragement from family members. Take the word disappointed and conveying instead ashamed and unwanted. Encouraging family members to completely turn their backs on someone is not in my opinion a solution for everyone. The one size fits all program is quackery at times. One visit in 3 weeks from a Nurse Practitioner is not a weekly Physician visit. Treating your patients like 3 year olds leave done scratching their head at times:((

This is a tough one to read as the owner. Since day one, 10 years ago, we've always strive to treat everyone like an adult. Our program, being non 12-step, is different from most in that we believe you can find your own power to understand what's been hurting you and driving the lifestyle. You're right, it's not for everyone. Strong CBT and dual diagnosis can be mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausting...but what happens on the other side after treatment is nothing short of miraculous. As many of our alumni will tell you. I'm sorry we weren't a fit and sincerely hope nothing but the best for you and your family. If you ever do need anything you can contact me directly. I enjoy talking with past clients about suggestions/concerns...anything that can better our program. So we can better serve future clients. Thanks.

Everyone truly cares and has a passion for the clients. The facilities are gorgeous. The best part of the program is the amount of one-on-one time, not mention all the CBT. This place over the last 10 years has helped 100s of people find sobriety.

as a family of an addict all I can say after paying cash $15,000 for treatment with no follow-up unless you are sober ??? This was use less, then brain wash clients to think AA is a waist of time. My loved one has no idea why they drink or any coping skills. They do know how to play cards, swim, ping pong and other games seems like there was a lot of time spent doing that instead of finding out why they have an addiction and how to deal with it. Don\'t waste your time there, your only making the owner rich, they do not care if you get well, actually I think they don\'t want you too, so that you\'ll come back and you\'ll pay again or they can bill your insurance company and they can just make more money. Sad because people will die if they don\'t get the right help. Last time I checked my loved one in for help there blood alcohol was almost .5 that would kill a normal person. I cannot stress enough on how worthless this place is.

I was inpatient at this facility for 45 days. The therapist there are not well trained and this place always felt like no one knew what they were doing. There was a few passionate caring people-but these were mostly other recovering addicts. The owners are scammers and in it for the money. A client seemed like a dollar sign. I am so dissapointed as the facility itself was pretty. Looks were deceiving. It felt like I was on an assembly line and not really treated in depth. Sad because I spent so much money and really got burned at this place. I think about it and almost feel used. Hopefully this place will go belly up, but sadly when I was their they were focused on hugely expanding. Focused on money making not quality care.

I was inpatient for 30 days, day treatment for another 2 weeks and finally IOP for 4 weeks. I found them to be professional, very much engaged and truly caring. The 1:1 counseling was high quality and the groups were always run with the right balance of "stick to the rules" rigor and enough wiggle room to make you feel like they viewed you as an adult. Food was great — healthy and plenty of it. I lost 15 lbs. by eating better and taking advantage of the focus they placed on exercise.

Verify every detail about who they are using for what. None of the drug testing was covered...Medications were from a pharmacy that was not covered by my insurance and they would not order medications from another one.... Past clients were most of the counselors. The place looked like they said but the rest was just fabricated.

Food was below par. No activities planned in advance. Seemed to enforce no rules. No recreation therapy provided. Staff was immature. I was determined to succeed upon entering facility and I am still motivated. I was disappointed by the quality in which things that could have been improved had there been more personal investment. The food offered was frozen, never organic and not once was nutrition discussed. On other health issues, yoga was offered once a week and exercise was always optional and never integrated into recovery. Meditation? Never mentioned how? The beautiful landscape was not once utilized and it was made cleared there was a tight budget. Which was apparent in all the down time. Except one night a week going to an AA meeting was offered, but never explained about. Strange! The overall opportunity to have such a beautiful area to stay sober and create new habits in was wonderful. My therapist was good. I am sincerely grateful for the knowledge I walked away with.
