I wish I could give this place zero stars for how they treated me. I was Baker Acted a while back and came here with the hope I would be helped. I did not receive any. There is A LOT I could say about how horrendous this place was from being freezing with no real bedding to having as little contact with the outside world as possible to offering no individualized therapy to not giving me information on the medication they prescribed to staff skipping activities that were supposed to be offered daily (gym, getting to *Go Outside*, etc) and so much more. However, the pinnacle of my stay was being threatened for asking to leave after the 72 hours was up. \"Doctor\" Syed H. Abbas threatened to have me put through court to be declared incompetent because I asked to be discharged. After getting these threats, I was repeatedly told by staff to shut up and not think about life outside the facility, treated like I was deranged for being upset at the thought of my *Basic Human Rights* being threatened, and told BY STAFF that it was very likely the other doctor (Sajid Hafeez) would agree on the basis of \"the doctors always agree with each other over patients.\" If you are considering staying here, I HIGHLY discourage it. They do not try to help you. They just want you to smile and act like nothing is wrong while they prioritize not being sued over actually helping people. I never want to be in a facility like this again.

This is the worst place I have ever tried to work with. I tried to get information, and after talking to 7 yes 7 people, i was either given a number with voicemail or told someone would contact me. I had to give sensitive medical information about a patient there to get a response. They refused to adhere to hippa laws in any way EXCEPT when I was requesting information about my daughter. I don't care how bad my child is, I WILL NEVER SEND HER HERE AGAIN AND I SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE GO HERE FOR HELP EITHER. The people I spoke to were rude and incompetent, and intrusive. They reused to listen to me tell them what was really the issue. They just keep people to get as much money as they can before allowing them to leave. The entire place is a mess.

My son was admitted for a 3 to 5 day stay. Every time I talked to him he was scared of everything. The other kid's the staff. The nurses can't answer any questions. Half the times I call you can't get through to anyone. I was not notified when my son was assaulted by another kid. I've asked to speak with the doctor twice to no avail.. I highly suggest taking your child anywhere but here.

Run far away . This place is a huge scam . Our daughter Was brought in on a Baker at. She was given absolutely no medicine. Actually, they even allowed her to wake up and stay up at night to help them with their adult duties. 2 weeks after she had been released with absolutely no change whatsoever. We received a very plain bill stating that the her stay for 3 days or less than 72 hours equalled over $6600! They lie to you on intake stating it's OK that you don't have financial abilities and that it's OK that you don't carry insurance. However, do not fall for their scams.

I can see why they only rate less than 3 stars. My daughter is being detoxed and they won't talk to me to get a full and accurate medical history. Alcoholics commonly lie about the severity of their illness, so family input is and should be critical information for performing accurate assessments. Don't they teach this in medical schools and nursing programs?

My first year of sobriety is completed. I tried 5 times before UBC and eventually went back to drinking. This time I succeeded. Every day has been a choice; to become someone I can be proud of, or return to misery. I'm also sending my thanks to the counselors, who made it possible for my success. They are terrific people, who care. I will be forever thankful.

They may delete this because it is not favorable. After telling a facility in another county that they would accept a patient. Transportation was arranged, patient transported. Ok, so the family thinks this is great, patient will get the help needed, in what they were told was a very good facility, by a number of people, including other health care workers. Well, think twice before sending your loved on there. Patient, was turned away and family had no idea where he was taken for hours. Now remember this is after getting information and saying they would take him.

I was brought to this place on a Baker Act. The staff was rude, inpatient and unorganized. I felt like I was in prison while there. The so called socIal and rehabilitative activities are as such for an example: where you are coloring. Really. Im 53 years old, I was over coloring in Kindegarten. If you have to take your loved one to a mental health center, for the love of God choose somewhere else.

I looked in to University Behavioral to get help for my son who has ODD, the website and the person I spoke to on the phone prior to taking the 1-1/2 hour trip to the facility both claimed this was the place to go for help. We didn't even make it past the intake clerk. She took down all our information and brought it to the psychiatrist. He never once came and spoke to us personally. Five minutes after taking it to the psychiatrist the intake clerk comes back, doctor doesn't feel my son should be admitted. Mind you he has recently attacked his sisters and has attack me in the past. The reason he wont be admitted "we only admit those who are a danger to themselves not others". Um ok....thats not what the website claims. Needless to say I feel as though the system is once again failing my son. We have been so desperately seeking help for him, yet no one seems to want to help before its too late and he ends up in juvenile detention or jail.

As a RN, I am understand the challenged of dealing with mental illness. Our family sought help for my mother and After dealing with University Behavioral Center in Orlando, I now understand why people with mental illness are NOT helped. I understand why employee reviews are negative. Dr. Parvez will not include family in the treatment plan even though patient consent is signed. They told me my mom was prescribed abilify but in fact she was sent home with 3 different medications that she had no way to fill. We informed them of this multiple times. The homecare company they consulted was not aware of this and now it has been 4 days without meds while we get this sorted out. I live out of state is why I was unable to do this. Staff is nasty on the phone especially when they know you are frustrated by their MISTAKES. My mother was discharged home, unable to drive, unable to obtain food, unable to fill a prescription, all while her husband was in the hospital getting brain surgery. Was not notified that my mother was going to be discharged until I happened to call them to find out why I had not recieved a call back about multiple concerns. I was told that my mom was a model pt and not a danger to herself but in fact a bakers act is also for people who are a danger to themselves because they cannot care for themselves because of their mental disability. She was discharged in a paronoid, delusional state. Roaches in the kitchen? Alarming! Talked with multiple nurses, therapist Aki?, Jim the director, never recieved a call from Dr. Parvez who is suppose to be the psychiatrist? When I did talk with staff, I was always told we will check on things but never recieved a call back. Nothing was ever checked on! Mom has a knee injury that they did nothing for except give her a wheelchair to sit in although I begged multiple times for this to be looked into! I truely know now as a nurse that mentally ill patients have no chance to be helped in my opinion of course. I know why some turn to suicide.

Well according to other people this facility was a lot better than others It made me feel like I was in prison Although it is better than some other facilities, it felt like a prison nevertheless. I've never felt more trapped and closed in before in my life. But yes I did leave with the problems I came in with resolved. But I left with several new problems that no behavioral center can fix.

This place was out there. I was threatened with medical restraint that could have overdosed me.The most unprofessional place I have ever been. Now the finance office is trying to tell me my Medicare deductible is $1287 when I called Medicare I was told the deductible was $166. My 72 hour stay was extended to 5 days. Is this even legal? Staff was talking about the gender of patients. And they also complained about the hours and the pay. On the day I left I noticed their license was expired. Very unprofessional This place needs to be to be closed

This facility is like hell. They don\'t help you or anyone here. This place is essential a prison. The conditions are inhumane. They keep it almost the point of freezing in this place and only give two cheap ass blankets on a shitty twin mattress. They don\'t give you your medication you were on outside of the center unless it is very basic management drugs like blood pressure or cholesterol meds/benadryl and shit. I was in pain management for a year and came into this facility to get through the withdrawals of an antidepressant medication. They said I tested positive for opiates. No shit I tested positive I am prescribed them for chronic pain. They thought I was there to detox. No one ever read my chart and I started going through opiate withdrawals after not having my opiates for pain for 5 days. They are horrible and treat you like a piece of garbage. Only one or two people there actually treat you with some semblance of respect. They refused to give me any of my meds I gave them on my intake forms. I understand that people use it to try and get free drugs but when someone actually tells you what they are on LISTEN TO THEM. Read their chart ffs.i also willfully admitted myself and the doctors lied to me and said I was Baker acted. I suppose to get more money out of me. You\'re honestly almost better off going back in time and being chucked into a medieval insane asylum. Don\'t ever go here. They do more harm than good.

I was baker acted and sent to this facility... I was here for a suicide attempt and this facility only made me feel worse. I had to get medicine every day for neausia and I lost 10 pounds in a 5 day stay here. They prescribed me the wrong medicine with a misdiagnosis. I felt unsafe with my roommates, and we could not go anywhere without permission, including the bathroom. There were only 2 staff members that treated me like a normal human being. AWFUL facility and AWFUL staff. If you have mental health issues go to ANY facility but this one.

This facility kept my child against my will and against my child\'s will. Staff and doctors treated my child with condescension and dismissiveness. They circumvented our questions, often sending us in neverending loops of phone trees. They labeled him uncooperative because he refused a medication their doctor wanted to give him—a medication he\'d had a bad experience with--a fact we had told the doctor. At the same time, they didn\'t give him the prescribed medicine he needed for other issues. Do not let anyone you love walk through the door of this place—the locks will bolt behind them, and you will work lo get them out, not realizing that once inside, your loved one no longer has rights, even when in sound mind.

My fiance was blowing off a little steam after having a little argument with a lifelong friend should I text someone and said guess what\'s next well all the sudden Orange County Sheriff. And naturally she says what can go wrong now why don\'t you just shoot me so they haul her off to University Behavioral Center where the staff don\'t even know what she is about the staff has never met her they start crime and drugs that she knows she can\'t take she tells them what she is supposed to be taking they do not give her her prescribed medication so next thing you know her blood pressure is 197 over 118 and she\'s having chest pains they tell her she\'s Faking It she tells him get me to the hospital now so after they try to cram some other drug down her throat and she refuses it they check her blood pressure again its 198 / 117 has not dropped at all so they take her to the hospital finally the hospital asked her what is her prescribed meds she tells them they asked her to pee in a cup she pees in a cup what comes back is the same thing she told him was that she was being prescribed with so the doctors give her her medication that she was diagnosed for and prescribed with she gets back the next day after she is fine is not having an episode of chest pains blood pressure is great the doctor comes in and says what did they give you for the chest pains she said nothing but my prescribed medication he said he was faking chest pains I\'m going to have them hold you when we go to court will keep you Baker Act is our bread-and-butter we make a lot of money off of you the reply was did you get the records from Florida hospital and he said no she said how do you know I\'m faking it she asked have you contacted the doctor that has been treating me for the last 11 years and says no she has been there for 2 days now when this has happened so they get her in the door start claiming some form drug down her throat trying to and threatening her saying if you do not take the drugs we give you or miss having you want you to take we\'re going to tell the judge to put you or to keep you longer she says I don\'t care I\'m not taking the drugs that cause me to be suicidal or cause other damage I told you that I cannot take them drugs except for the ones they\'re prescribed for me on the day of her being taken in there I went in and told them you can\'t be giving her these are drugs and threatening her you will kill her they had no concern her sister called and told him she can\'t be taken but what she has been prescribed she is been diagnosed and prescribed dial care they keep threatening her with will put you in a straitjacket will tell the judge to keep you we don\'t care will tell them that you\'re denying the we will tell the judge you are denying the meds not the meds that was prescribed for her but the meds that they\'re trying to cram down her throat so the doctor comes in the following day and says I have your hospital report I\'m going to give you the medications that you are prescribed and now it is right now 72 hours that she\'s been in there a little more than 72 hours and they won\'t release her until probably tomorrow to see if she\'s going to blow up or have some kind of episode I\'ll be in there at visitation from 7 to 8 this place is totally filthy the beds do not get sanitized there is bloody cotton used Camp axes needle covers with a tape to the tip of the needle to guard all down beside the bed no one is clean nothing they don\'t wash their hands they don\'t use gloves this place is a nightmare do not I repeat do not take your child or your loved one there because they have no idea what they\'re doing I\'m in the process of calling Channel 9 and 35 or anybody that would do a report or background check there\'s multiple complaints against this place they might start at 3 stars but I\'m telling you it\'s not 3 stars I would rate this place AZ no stars because I was sitting there in the waiting room waiting to see my significant other the day before and what do they have on TV they have a show where people on horseback are slaughtering and killing people running on foot for their lives and I told the staff member that you know what she said but that\'s not true we don\'t have that plan well obviously she left after she was all in my face about 7 inches away from my face and no we don\'t trying to intimidate me she disappeared quickly and I never seen her after that and when I left out of his attention it was not playing the TV was not even on Soho peanut Behavioral Center and they got violence killing people screaming bloody murder for their lives and then force and power around as abuse of power and they\'re laughing and giggling about it what came and get the have no sleep they come in and wake her up every hour if they can drop something slam a door in the room or come over there physically when she sleeps 2 hours 4 days on the Colorado only been down here for days that\'s a bunch of bullshit she never got to read nothing no terms of any agreements I never got to read nothing that I asked about visitation hours and no and no nothing the staff knows nothing I mean they literally are stupid all they know they can scream at people try to force people and threaten people to do what they want this place needs to be investigated that place is filthy dirty it was undermining stuff you do not put a 300-pound person that\'s 300 pounds into me I heard it laughing about the staff is laughing about it finally somebody with some compassion came in the room because she was doing is talking on the phone with me having to do this other person

Were able to properly sedate my child without overdosing him. Was able to handle my son's destructive behavior. They were unable to find a medication that worked. I have faith in the facility's doctors. I know that with enough time, they would be able to give them the help he needs. In my case, with insurance, it was $40 a day. He was there for 2 weeks so I couldn't let him stay because I just couldn't afford it. But I would send him back in the future.

The staff was great and made the whole family feel welcomed. The therapy was very beneficial. The wait time for appointments was long. Do not take your child here. We took our 16 year old daughter here and admitted her under a 24 hr voluntary observation. We were told by the admisson worker we would be contacted the following morning by the Dr and if we wanted to pick her up the following day we could. No call the next day my wife eventually called and was told doctor is recommending a medication which my wife consented to. Several hours later my daughter calls and says she does not feel safe and wants to come home. We call nurse on staff and are told she can not be relesed for atleast 24 more hrs . we go to facility and press the call button at the door spoke to the operator and had to wait 40 min. to be let in. The nurse informs us that its their policy is 24 hrs after request before she can be relesed so they can get a discharge plan and have a medication plan. I state what we were told and that i dont feel comfortable with her being there. He says that hes talked to her and she was fine and that shes on the new meds and hes been monitoring her and shes had no side effects. He insist that he can not relese her till tomorrow but he will get her so we can see her. He then brings in a patient that was not our daughter. After finally seeing our daughter she informs us that she has not been given any meds.and that the facility is very unsanitary that she had to sit in a room for an extended amount of time with a girl who vomited from hidding meds and taking several doses at ounce, that the staff has been obsessively using profanity. After she leaves i again asm him if she has taken meds and he says yes, i then inform him she has not. And he then says another nurse administers them . He says we will be cobtacted at 9 am by dr. And we wi be able to get her. No call we call and they give us a 1:30 appt. We arrive wait 1.5 hrs then talk to counselor and are t told shes getting the paper work and we can go . we wait 2 more hrs then finally have to complai. The nurse brings out discharge paperwork and there is no review or prescription. This is only part of it .please do not bring your child here.
