  • Individual Therapy

This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.
  • Family Program

Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.

ABOUT RECOVERY IN MOTION

Recovery In Motion is a clinically-driven, full-service facility in Tucson, Ariz., offering residential, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and traditional outpatient care for individuals seeking recovery from issues of substance use and co-occurring disorders, one of 47 percent of facilities to do so. Clinical care can be provided 24 hours a day, and medical detoxification is offered and supervised on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, clients participate in an initial assessment. If necessary, detoxification is monitored by a medical staff, and medications including Subutex and Librium may be prescribed to help alleviate clients' withdrawal symptoms. Detox also includes addiction education, life skills development, and transition to residential or outpatient care.

The 90-day residential program uses the 12-step model of recovery in conjunction with several evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In addition, the program includes art and music therapies, as well as yoga. Clients may also participate in psychoeducational group therapy.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is offered as the next step after residential treatment or for individuals with less severe forms of addiction. Recovery In Motion’s outpatient program is designed for individuals who require minimal treatment and focuses on relapse prevention.

Treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders involves medication along with other evidence-based therapies such as trauma-informed therapy. Family members are educated about the recovery process through a family program.
