ABOUT WAISMANN METHOD
The Waismann Method is a rapid, medically monitored detoxification process for clients battling opioid dependency. Provided in a hospital setting in Greater Los Angeles, it's among the 15 percent of hospital-based treatment facilities in California to offer medical detox. Specialized residential aftercare is provided at an exclusive recovery center owned by the center.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment plans are individualized based on a comprehensive assessment that evaluates medical history, level of drug use, and other factors. Clients must participate in the assessment before admission into the hospital.
During the rapid detoxification process, clients are placed under sedation while they receive intravenous medications to rid the body's receptor sites of opioid molecules. This process would be extremely uncomfortable if the client were awake, but because of the anesthesia, they experience no discomfort and wake up with no recollection of the process. After the procedure, clients receive naloxone (commonly known as Narcan) and are kept in the hospital until they are stabilized.
Once stable, clients receive seven to 10 days of aftercare at a private treatment facility specifically for Waismann Method patients, called Domus Retreat. The facility offers individual psychotherapy and psychiatrist consultations, as well as massage therapy, yoga, and acupuncture, the latter of which is offered by just 8.2 percent of treatment facilities in California.
A medical director with more than 20 years of experience in opioid detox and pain management leads the Waismann Method team. There's also a licensed psychotherapist at Domus Retreat.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Waismann Method is administered in a private room at a JCAHO-accredited hospital. Once at Domus Retreat, clients stay in private bedrooms with TVs and en suite bathrooms. Amenities include chef-prepared meals, housekeeping services, a swimming pool, and Jacuzzi.
