ABOUT MULTI CONCEPT RECOVERY
Multi Concept Recovery (MCR) offers customized treatment planning for individuals and families struggling with alcohol and drug addictions and co-occurring mental health disorders in Burbank, Calif. With individualized planning and flexible scheduling at its core, MCR prides itself in being a treatment program with “options," offering clients opportunity to choose between partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), or traditional outpatient tracks, in addition to traditional or mindfulness-based programs.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment services at Multi Concept Recovery are first and foremost designed to provide clients with the option to decide which is the most optimal level or care for themselves. To start, clients begin with a comprehensive intake process that takes into consideration both their substance use and mental health histories. As programming is based on the principle of empowerment, clients are exposed to a variety of treatment options to help them determine which ones work best for their long-term path into recovery.
Clients seeking all-day, intensive treatment that does not require staying at a facility overnight may be recommended for PHP care. One of just 242 (18.5 percent) statewide PHPs, this track provides participants with daily opportunity for group therapy as well as for “regularly scheduled family-support meetings.” IOP participants may choose between day (9 a.m.) and evening (6 p.m.) sessions to accommodate their commitments to school and/or work.
Having decided upon a particular level of care, outpatients then choose between a traditional treatment program and an emotional intelligence & mindfulness program. The latter makes use of more traditional, evidence-based modalities like dialectical behavior (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and 12-step support meetings. Adding to these, the latter offers groups centered around mindfulness and meditation. Additional emphasis is placed on the development of an outside support network, which the facility believes improves the likelihood of a successful long-term recovery, and aftercare.
Treatment services at Multi Concept Recovery are provided by a team of licensed advanced alcohol and drug counselors (LAADC), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT), and a physician. Collectively, MCR staff are experienced and well-versed in CBT, RPT, DBT, and mindfulness, amongst other evidence-based modalities.
MCR is also one of just 182 (13.9 percent) facilities in the state of California accredited by the Joint Commission, one of 582 (44.4 percent) with licensing from the California Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS).
While Rehabs.com has yet to receive any reviews from this facility’s alumni, affiliated friends or family members, feedback across secondary sources revealed satisfaction amongst former clients. To date, nearly three dozen individuals awarded MCR perfect average ratings of five out of five stars across Facebook and Google.
Collectively, reviewers described MCR staff as caring, hard-working, welcoming, and genuine. “An incredible movement. This is a life changing company.”” wrote L.T. in one such celebratory five-star review on Facebook. “These people go above and beyond and offer highly effective tools that work,” added E.C., one of four Google reviewers to have awarded MCR five out of five stars to date.
Multi Concept Recovery works “directly” with each client’s insurance company to determine their benefits, making MCR one of just 734 (56.0 percent) facilities in the state to accept health insurance. According to its website, MCR is in-network with Aetna, Beacon Health Options, and Anthem Clue Cross, and accepts PPO plans with Anthem, Cigna, Assurant, and Health Net.
