    This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.

    Though not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Located in Huntington Beach, Calif., Broadway Treatment Center offers a full spectrum of care for adults struggling with substance misuse and dual diagnosis. Treatment includes intervention services, medical detox, residential treatment, outpatient services at a variety of intensities, and sober living facilities.


Treatment begins with detox, if necessary. Other medical treatments available include a Probuphine buprenorphine implant, a Naltrexone implant, and/or Nexalin for anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

The center also uses the Matrix Model. Treatment includes individual counseling and psychotherapy sessions rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT); daily group counseling; skills building, including career training and educational assistance as well as constructive recreational activities.

The residential program provides 24-hour supervision. Clients may choose to stay in the program for 30, 60, or 90 days, making the facility one of the 440 (33.6 percent) rehabs in California that offer a long-term (30+ days) residential treatment program.

Broadway Treatment Center is also one of 517 rehabs in California to offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP). IOP at this facility involves programming up to five days a week, and can serve clients for anywhere between a few weeks and a few months.

The facility's jail diversion program is an alternative to incarceration for individuals who are struggling with addiction and suffer from mental illness. Additionally, the facility provides treatment specifically geared toward couples.


According to Broadway Treatment Center's website, clients are evaluated by a physician before and after detox. In addition, the facility’s website describes Broadway’s clinical staff as “highly qualified supervisors and counselors,” but does not specify their credentials. Broadway Treatment Center’s website indicated a suburban, family-styled home as one of its sober living facilities. Numerous reviewers credited the facility with saving their life and many others noted the feeling of inclusion they got from staff and other clients. "This place makes you feel like you belong to a loving family and everyone is always eager to address any emotional concerns that may be going on," alum B.T. wrote in a representative review.

On the facility's official Facebook page, which staff may manage, 39 individuals contributed to an average rating of 4.9 out of five stars.[1] On Google, 45 reviewers contributed to an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars.[2] Reviewers also left positive commentary, many of who wrote about the caring staff and the life-changing program.


The sole loved one surveyed by Rehabs.com to date provided a mostly positive review. The anonymous reviewer indicated that they would recommend treatment at this facility, and gave it five out of five stars for family participation and four stars in most of the other evaluated treatment metrics, including its treatment effectiveness, counseling options, and treatment for co-occurring disorders. They praised the “faith based options and church attendance,” but added: “Way to much freedom to the outside world, this may present a problem.”
