Our Outpatient Program is recommended as a second stage of treatment or treatment for individuals returning home after inpatient treatment. It’s an ideal structure for an addict who has a plan of recovery and needs to maintain accountability. It is recommended to those who are looking for extra tools to maintain sobriety and to increase their chances of long lasting abstinence from substance abuse. OP is offered as a 30, 60, or 90 day program. During this time, patients will attend sessions 3 days per week.Individual Therapy Sessions
Individual counseling with an addiction counselor is just as important as our group therapy. Private, individual counseling sessions give the patient the opportunity to express anything they may be uncomfortable sharing at a group level. It provides the chance to process any unresolved grief or anger from past events or trauma, or just to vent about frustrations he or she may be having during treatment. This gives the counselor the opportunity to really talk with the patient on an intimate, safe and supportive level, so that they may gauge the progress he or she is making. Counseling also allows for the opportunity to address the psychological component of his or her dependency. This is one of the key areas that keep an addict from using drugs or alcohol again following their treatment program. Our patients meet for individual counseling weekly. This service is also offered to any person who is looking to enhance their recovery process and grow to their highest potential. Counseling can be beneficial to anyone dealing with emotional stress or any number of issues surrounding cognitive processing.

ABOUT SOBER SPOT RECOVERY
Located in Laguna Hills, Calif., Sober Spot Recovery offers a holistic approach to helping adults overcome their substance misuse and co-occurring disorders. Sober Spot provides a full continuum of care, including a partial hospitalization program (PHP), traditional outpatient (OP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and aftercare.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
After a psychiatric consultation and a medical assessment, patients receive an individualized treatment plan. All programs are based on the 12-step model of recovery, though also focus on resolving trauma through evidence-based therapies, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Other evidence-based modalities include dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
The holistic program also offers a range of alternative and experiential approaches, including yoga, meditation, massage therapy, acupuncture, SURF model therapy, equine therapy** and sound healing therapy. All clients also participate in weekly family systems groups.
Sober Spot Recovery is one of only 257 treatment facilities (18.0 percent) in the state to offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP). The most intensive stage of treatment, PHP involves treatment five days per week, and lasts a minimum of 28 days. Patients attend three to six group therapy sessions every day, an hour of individual counseling every week, and a bi-monthly outing.
The standard outpatient program meets three days per week and is offered at 30-, 60-, or 90-day intervals. The program includes individual counseling, educational group sessions, and relapse prevention groups.
All graduates have access to lifetime group aftercare meetings and leave with an aftercare plan in collaboration with their case manager.

Staff at Sober Spot Recovery includes a consulting psychiatrist who serves as medical director, a licensed marriage and family therapist with 20 years’ experience, a certified alcohol and drug counselor, a pilates instructor, and a nutritionist.

Sober Spot Recovery is located directly off Interstate 5, 10 miles from the beach. Though the website does not provide a description of the facilities, a reviewer on Google described the center as "peaceful and safe."[1]

However, secondary review sites yielded unanimously positive feedback for Sober Spot Recovery. On their Facebook page, which the staff can manage, the facility received nine five out of five-star ratings.[2] "Great place for IOP transition," Timothy, a representative reviewer, wrote. "Staff really care and want to see their clients succeed and become successful members of society."
Similarly, three individuals who left feedback on Google and three who left feedback on Yelp all gave five-star reviews.[3] Many alumni who left commentary credited Sober Spot with their lasting sobriety.
