ABOUT TWIN TOWN TREATMENT CENTERS - LOS ALAMITOS

One of six Twin Town Treatment Centers throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County, Twin Town of Los Alamitos, Calif., provides outpatient treatment services for teens and adolescents facing substance abuse in the communities of Long Beach, Cerritos, Cypress, Anaheim, Westminster, and Huntington Beach.

Where needed, Twin Town can coordinate detoxification services for clients through an affiliated physician.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To determine the appropriate level of care, clients undergo an initial, no-cost evaluation that includes biological screening and a psychosocial assessment. Treatment combines 12-step principles with individual therapy, group counseling, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Family education and codependency counseling are also available for clients and their loved ones.

Twin Town offers three levels of care. Day (or partial hospitalization) treatment, the most intense level of care, involves eight hours of programming per day, up to six days per week. Conveniently available both mornings and evenings, the intensive outpatient program (IOP) meets three hours daily, up to six day a week. Clients who successfully complete the IOP receive continuing care services for four subsequent months, which includes aftercare treatment twice weekly.

Respectively, the day treatment and IOP at Twin Town account for one of 242 (18.5 percent) and 517 (39.4 percent) of such programs in the state. There’s also an active alumni organization which meets monthly.

Along with these outpatient options, Twin Town runs an alcohol and drug education program for criminal justice clients and a 10-session track for former clients who have relapsed. The former can be used for employer referrals; it includes regular urinalysis testing.
