ABOUT HILLTOP RECOVERY SERVICES WOMEN’S CENTER
Founded in 2005 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Hilltop Recovery Services operates multiple treatment centers in Northern California for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in both residential and outpatient capacities.
The Lucerne location exclusively offers residential and outpatient care for women, placing it amongst the 51.5 percent of treatment facilities in the state with female-specific programming. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may also be part of treatment when needed.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Per the organization’s website, Hilltop Recovery Services makes use of a highly individualized approach that takes into consideration a client's unique needs. Program participants will work closely with counselors to develop a recovery plan and set realistic, achievable goals.
While in treatment, women can expect both one-on-one counseling and group therapy. Residents meet weekly with their counselors to review progress made and develop effective solutions in the face of any setbacks. Suboxone may also be incorporated into programming to assist women recovering from opioid dependency.
The rest of the week is spent in groups that, according to the facility, “are a mix of Therapeutic, Social Model and Educational philosophies.” Discussion topics include communication skills, conflict management, life skills, anger management, and parenting. Women may also be introduced to the 12-step model of recovery.
Successful program graduates in need of additional assistance have access to other services of Hilltop Recovery Services, including its intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), sober living houses, and other aftercare services.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The Medical Director of Hilltop Recovery Services is an authorized Suboxone provider, and all staff are trained in crisis intervention. In California, 97.3 percent of all facilities have continuing education requirements for staff.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Hilltop Recovery Services’ homelike ranch is tucked away in a wooded, rural area to provide a setting ideal for rest and recovery. The residence can accommodate up to six women at a time, suggesting highly-individualized care, as the average number of individuals in a residential treatment facility at a time was 18 clients, as of 2016.
Pre-approved visitors are welcome to visit on Sunday, and all guests are invited to attend regularly scheduled family events and holiday celebrations.
