  • SOBA Drug Treatment

At SOBA, we have separated ourselves from other drug treatment centers with our belief that addiction is not only a disease- that it is also a side effect of very powerful underlying issues. We know that in order to successfully treat your addiction, we must work with you to address and treat those problems. Our renowned staff of therapists, counselors, personal trainers and medical experts will guide you through a unique process of healing the mind, body, and spirit.
  • SOBA's Unique Alcohol Treatment

At SOBA, we believe the factors that led you to drink in the first place are as much a crucial part of the disease as the dependency on alcohol itself. In order to best understand this, we can compare this to chronic back pain: if you only take medication to relive the pain, the underlying issues causing the pain will never be addressed. Therefore, is just the "broken" back the disease, or the pain you feel from it? Or both? The same can be applied to addiction. Alcohol treatment that only addresses the cessation of drinking ultimately does nothing to address the true disease. Ultimately, Emotional Sobriety is the goal of our treatment plan.

Rehabs 360 Guide

SOBA Recovery Center (SRC) in Malibu, Calif., is a luxury substance abuse treatment facility that provides residential care — which includes extended stays at the sober living facility, Malibu Villas. Detox services are available on-site.

The trained mental health professionals at SOBA Recovery believe that alcohol and drug use are merely symptoms, and that underlying emotional and psychiatric concerns such as PTSD, family problems, anxiety, and depression must be addressed.

Following guidelines from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, SRC recommends a 90-day treatment period, although there are other treatment options available for clients who are not able to stay for the full 90 days.

The facility offers a social model for recovery, where individuals live together in a supportive and relaxed beachfront community. Treatment is centered on a neurobiological approach that emphasizes nutrition and exercise, and is supplemented by 12-step meetings, one-on-one therapy, and psychoeducational groups..

SRC believes that aftercare is an important part of successful recovery. There are several choices available for the transitional living segment of treatment; one of the most popular options is to stay at SRC’s own Malibu Villas luxury sober living facility.

Along with an independently affiliated physician, SRC’s treatment team includes psychologists, licensed therapists, social workers, personal trainers, yoga instructors, an acupuncturist, and a wealth and wellness coach. The facility staffs one therapist for every two clients.

Residential clients stay in private and semi-private beach cottages just steps from the shore. An executive chef, who can accommodate special dietary requests, cooks home-style gourmet meals. Personal trainers offer structured fitness programs and daily activities including surf therapy, a ropes course, kayaking, and tennis.

The facility offers private beach access, and there is an outdoor pool on-site. Bed rooms and community area are upscale and cozy.
