Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Located in a ranch-style home just outside the city of Redlands in inland Southern California, Creekside Ranch Treatment Center is a rehab for adults struggling with addiction and dual diagnosis — one of 471 private, for-profit rehabs in the rehab-friendly state of California. The center offers a continuum of care, including medical detox, residential treatment, and several levels of outpatient care.

For clients requiring detoxification, medical professionals monitor withdrawal round the clock, to ensure clients' safety and comfort. Though most clients withdraw as inpatients (there are six detox beds), there is also the option of detoxing on an intensive outpatient (IOP) basis.

There are two residential treatment tracks: a 12-step track and a non-12-step one that uses a holistic, therapeutic, and clinical approach. This approach uses evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) — one of the most popular methods of treating addiction, used by 93 percent of facilities around the nation. On both treatment tracks, residents participate in individual, group, and family counseling. And Creekside also treats emotional and mood disorders as well as sexual trauma.

Creekside offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and can provide referrals to other treatment centers in the area, for aftercare.

The clinical director is educated to PhD-level, and Creekside's website also notes that the center uses psychiatrists, though none are posted among the full-time staff. There are two staff members for every three residents, and each client is assigned a social worker, case manager, and primary counselor.

With 16 beds, Creekside is half the size of the average residential treatment facility in the US. Most clients sleep in well-furnished shared rooms, though private room options are available. The cabin-like facility boasts a fully stocked kitchen, dining room, and comfortable lounge area. Outside are creeks, forests, hills, and sweeping plains — but the main selling points might be the full-size pool and sauna.

The single review submitted to Rehabs.com to date is very negative. "No treatment for substance abuse none of the staff have experience with drug addicts," A.I. wrote, adding that they had problems with the center's staff and found photos of the facility deceptive.

At the time of this writing, there are no reviews of Creekside on approved secondary sites.

The single loved one polled by Rehabs.com to date, mother Laurie, gave stellar feedback, giving Creekside perfect five-star ratings for every aspect of its treatment, including its treatment effectiveness, holistic options, family participation, counseling options, and ability to treat co-occurring disorders. "Excellent communication and beautiful facility," Laurie added.

Staff member C.M., the single employee polled by Rehabs.com to date, wrote: "Great service great people."

Treatment costs $1,750 per day, $15,000 per month, and $35,000 per three months, and like 53.4 percent of facilities in California, Creekside accepts private insurance policies.
