ABOUT TRUE RECOVERY
Located in the Orange County city of Newport Beach, Calif., True Recovery offers residential and outpatient services to adults struggling with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders. The facility also provides medical detox, which is available in only 15 percent of non-hospital facilities in California.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission, clients undergo a substance use assessment and psychiatric evaluation to help True Recovery clinicians determine an individualized plan of care.
During residential treatment, clients can expect to receive individual and group therapy, family counseling, and addiction education. They are also introduced to 12-step principles, as well as alternative support groups. In addition, holistic activities such as Tai Chi, yoga, and art and music therapy are offered.
True Recovery utilizes an array of evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), the latter of which is practiced by 50.3 percent of treatment facilities in the state.
In addition to residential treatment, True Recovery offers extended care via a partial hospitalization program (PHP) combined with sober living. The facility is among the 18.5 percent of facilities in California to provide a PHP. There's also an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which offered by 39.4 percent of California treatment facilities.
True Recovery employs a multidisciplinary team of masters-level and doctorate-level clinicians, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and certified addiction counselors.
