ABOUT CEDAR POINT RECOVERY
Located in Sacramento, Calif., Cedar Point Recovery provides individualized treatment to adults that combines evidence-based and holistic therapies. The rehab center coordinates with local sober living facilities to house clients enrolled in its partial hospitalization program. The facility also offers step-down outpatient programs and aftercare support.
Specialized programming for professionals and detoxification services are available. Cedar Point is operated by Sprout Health Group, a national addiction treatment provider with headquarters and outpatient programs at its Advanced Health and Education facility in New Jersey.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To begin the assessment process, clients first undergo a 10- to 20-minute phone consultation. Admission can often be arranged within a day, and its PHP with sober housing typically runs from 30 to 90 days.
Clients participate in a full day of programming, which includes trauma-informed individual, group, and family counseling sessions, and clients are also immersed into 12-step fellowship. While cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the central modality used at Cedar Point Recovery, several other approaches are utilized, including mindfulness training and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to address trauma.
Among the holistic therapy offerings are yoga, equine therapy, and meditation. Clients who have co-occurring disorders receive integrated dual diagnosis treatment, which may include medication management to address mental health symptoms.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP), typically recommended following completion of PHP, meets for up to nine hours per week, usually for 16 weeks. Once a client completes IOP, case managers help them form an effective extended-care plan to support relapse prevention. Aftercare is also supported through Cedar Point Recovery's alumni association activities.
