The detox rehab’s services allow clients to withdraw safely in as comfortable a manner as possible utilizing medications like methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, and Subutex. While physical symptoms stabilize, clients are given access to group, individual, and family therapy to help uncover the root cause of their addiction and work toward establishing a clean and sober life.

  • Individual Therapy

This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.
  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Capalina Clinic, located in San Marcos, Calif., is one of five San Diego Comprehensive Treatment Centers that offers outpatient services for individuals struggling with opiate addiction and cross addiction to alcohol and opiates. Treatment options include medically supervised detox, methadone/Suboxone maintenance, and counseling services. Capalina Clinic also provides programming designed to help clients transition from medication maintenance to abstinence.

Capalina Clinic specializes in treating addiction to substances including OxyContin, oxycodone, heroin, Percocet, Vicodin/Hydrocodone, Fentanyl/Duragesic, and other opiates. Individuals who are addicted to both alcohol and opiates can also access appropriate treatment. Clients usually begin treatment with outpatient medical detox and stabilization — a process known as ambulatory detox —which can take up to two weeks.

Once stabilized, eligible clients may be assigned a course of methadone or Suboxone maintenance to help ease further symptoms of withdrawal. Outpatient counseling and an individualized abstinence program are also offered. The abstinence program includes intensive group, individual, and family therapy, combined with medication management.

The facility’s website notes that all staff are “licensed and experienced,” but does not include information on specific credentials.

Seven of the 11 reviewers on Yelp to date provided one-star reviews, citing long wait times, unclean conditions, and a high rate of staff turnover.[1] All together, the 11 ratings averaged 2.27 out of five stars. Alum Eric felt that the poor lab conditions led to inaccurate test results. “Don't go to this place they CANNOT keep an employee and the testing CANNOT be trusted,” he wrote. More than one alum specifically noted the lack of privacy afforded to clients. “This treatment center is expensive and you have to dose standing next to someone else. they can not keep there employees,” Kris wrote in a Yelp review.

The four reviewers on CiteHealth were also unimpressed with the center, providing an average rating of 1.25 out of five stars.[2] Similar to Yelp reviewers, these alumni reported dirty facility conditions, long wait times, and a lack of organization. "Filthy areas from waiting room to lab… No follow-ups when questioned. Staff very poorly trained. No Doctor on site,” one reviewer wrote.

The five Google users who submitted reviews were more positive overall, providing an average rating of four out of five stars.[3] Three of the four reviewers found the staff and treatment helpful. “All the councillors and nurses are amazing,” Adam wrote, and Stacy characterized staff as “patient ,hardworking, and kind.”

According to its website, Capalina Clinic accepts most insurance plans, but notes that "Patients who plan to use their insurance may submit an invoice to their provider to request reimbursement for any covered out-of-pocket expenses that they incur."
