When I came to pacific sands recovery I was so scared. I was convinced I wasn’t going to stay long and that all the rules and restrictions were useless. But throughout the one month I stayed there I fell in love with the dynamic and the staff. I got lucky to have had a great group with supportive people around me every minute of the day, someone to talk to when I had the bad overthinking days and the consistency, support and stability from the staff. It’s really worth it and I never thought I’d be the one to enjoy it but I really did.. I was accepted for who I was no matter the trouble I caused while being under the influence, they really brought me out of my own comfort zone. Leah is the best, she’s the case manager she helped me realize that it’s ok to surrender and let yourself be vulnerable because that’s truly the only way you learn. Mike E is the funniest man you’ll ever meet, and David is the coolest nurse ever, best in the game :) During the week, different speakers come in and teach us about relationships, addictions, co-dependency, and etc. Paxton, Gabe, and Parham are incredible, caring, goofy, but very intelligent and entertaining. No matter what time of day it is, all the staff members will go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and I am so grateful that I went through 30 days, coming in, a broken little girl and coming out a mature young woman. This is the best detox, developed a lot of friendships in there, and I thought I was the last person to ever go to treatment, kept telling myself I’m fine and I’m not an addict but that quickly changed when I got sober and realized how great, confident and powerful I felt within rather than feeling like a zombie everyday not knowing what to do with my life. I’m proud of myself for making a good decision once in my life. Appreciate them all <3
