A chemical dependency (alcohol/drug) problem is a complex, multifaceted disease which affects the whole person. A chemical dependency problem is democratic; it does not respect age, sex, race, creed, national origin, education, intellectual level, socio-economic group or preference. It may disrupt a person's physical, psychological, interpersonal, emotional and spiritual life. It can be diagnosed through behavior changes and family problems: Chemical dependency affects biological, social, vocational and educational interactions and thus can disrupt such environments.

  • Individualized Treatment

Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
  • Client & Family Support Groups

Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.

Rehabs 360 Guide

One of six different facilities operated by Twin Town Treatment Centers (TTTC) throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, TTTC of Sherman Oaks offers a full continuum of treatment services and programs for adults and teens.

Accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the State of California, TTTC of North Hollywood is one of just 242 (18.5 percent) programs in the state to offer day treatment, and one of 517 (39.4 percent) to offer intensive outpatient (IOP) care. It also provides relapse prevention programming, continuing care, and alumni groups throughout the San Fernando Valley.

Prospective clients begin with an initial interview and assessment at no cost. Results derived from this assessment help clients determine if they’re an appropriate fit for day treatment or IOP care. As part of the initial assessment, the center can arrange for detox services for those who require medical attention.

While participants of day treatment attend a full day, or eight hours, of treatment, six days a week, those in IOP attend three hours of programming either day or night, up to six days a week. As a client progresses through various program phases, the amount of time they spend in treatment decreases.

Treatment is tailored to meet each client’s personal needs; however, programs typically involve individual and group therapy sessions, 12-step groups, and family codependency counseling. Educational workshops help clients develop skills to manage stress and communicate more effectively.

Following treatment, program graduates have access to continuing care as well as the organization’s monthly alumni support group. Typically, clients enroll in at least four months of twice weekly aftercare sessions. There’s also a relapse track, consisting of 10 sessions of IOP care, that’s available to those who’ve completed the IOP track but have also relapsed.

According to its website, TTTC partners with and refers clients to affiliated community-based therapists, primary care physicians, and other mental health professionals.

The pair of alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com to date both had positive treatment experiences at TTTC. One anonymous alum called it a “good program which was very hands on and got to the root of the problem.” The other alum awarded five stars for treatment effectiveness and told of “great counselors” but claimed that amenities were “lacking.” Both were unenthused with the holistic options here.

On Indeed, the sole staff review on the North Hollywood location described the center as a “company that allows their counselors to practice and implement the 12 core functions daily,” adding: “Twin Town Treatment Center allows for growth and opportunity.”[1]

TTTC contracts with most insurance plans, making it one of 734 (56.0 percent) centers in the state of California to do so. According to its website, TTTC is “one of the lowest cost providers, providing some of the most flexible payment planning available."
