ABOUT PATH TO SERENITY FOR MEN
Path to Serenity, located in Villa Park, Calif., offers residential, outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs for men struggling with addiction. Close to the cities of Anaheim and Orange and a few minutes away from John Wayne Airport, the facility is one of the only 686 (52.3 percent) facilities in the state with programming specifically tailored to men, and one of California's only 197 (15 percent) non-hospital treatment centers offering on-site detoxification.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Path to Serenity’s treatment programming blends an holistic approach with 12-step facilitation. To be admitted, clients begin by contacting the facility for a clinical and psychological assessment. The most intensive level of care, residential treatment lasts at least 30 days.
Residential programming includes five hours of daily group psychotherapy, nightly 12-step groups with transportation provided, weekly experiential sober outings, individual psychotherapy at least twice per week, meditation and professional mentoring, and education on fitness and nutrition. Referrals to academic and career opportunities within the community are also provided as part of each client's discharge plan.
Path to Serenity offers unique activities including art therapy, yoga, meditation, cycling, beach volleyball, badminton, swimming, cooking, foosball, Zumba classes, gardening, and Pilates. Alternative therapies such as equine therapy and massage therapy are also available at an additional cost. Families are included in treatment through regular support group meetings.
The facility also offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which meets five days a week with morning, afternoon, and evening sessions available, as well as partial hospitalization program (PHP), which may function as transitional program between residential and outpatient treatment.
The treatment team at Path to Serenity includes two certified substance abuse counselors, a certified alcohol and drug counselor, a certified addictions treatment counselor, three marriage and family therapists, and a registered alcohol and drug technician.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Path to Serenity offers six beds for clients in a secluded, residential setting, suggesting highly individualized care. Both private and shared rooms are available. The facility is equipped with a modern kitchen and dining room, living room, and yoga/exercise room to increase the client’s comfort while in treatment. There are also additional amenities for clients to enjoy including a pool, large outdoor patio, chicken coop, fruit trees, and a trampoline.

To date, the two former client to provide written feedback for the facility gave a glowingly positive reviews. "Awsome place. Staff is great and very helpful," Gino wrote. The other alum awarded perfect five-star ratings for the facility's overall effectiveness and quality of the facilities. "Amazingly luxurious facility for the price. Very well educated staff in the field. Clean and extremely caring people," the alum wrote.
The sole reviewer on the facility's Yelp page to date provided a five-star rating. Claiming over a year of sobriety, S.L. wrote, "They helped me out tremendously in my recovery when my insurance gave out on me. They even offered me to attend OP when I had already moved out for no charge but because they cared about me."

WHAT STAFF SAY
At the time of this writing there, the one staff member polled by Rehabs.com expressed serious concerns with the leadership of Path to Serenity, despite giving five-star ratings for the facility's counseling options, its treatment of co-occurring mental health problems, and the staff's level of experience and training. However, she stated she would not recommend the facility due to management.
