They let me work day labor on the weekends. I have been Clean & Sober for 25 years. They had a 3/4 house where I could rent an apartment and had a meeting there once a week for my aftercare treatment. I have been sober since leaving the program. The program taught me that there was another way of life that included Prayer and Meditation. 1 of my counselors taught me how to meditate and how to grow Spiritually. I had to get rid of my old ideas about what I thought about Religion and to choose a God that I wanted in my life.
The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake
Had a loved one treated here. Was worried for her during the detox part, her detox therapist took excellent care of her. Checked her vitals every couple of hours and kept her comfortable and safe. She sent me an e-mail explaining visitation and phone calls, reached out to me on the phone, and gave me the contact info for the people taking care of her after detox. Jaywalker Lodge
Jaywalker Lodge was my saving grace. I\'ve always loved the outdoors and being adventurous, but my addiction stripped me of those things. Jaywalker Lodge taught me how to enjoy all of those things again. The alumni community of Jaywalker is what makes it work. I remember being in the Lodge and seeing all of the alumni come in for meals, and seeing how happy they were after going on mountain bike rides or shredding on the mountain all day. I thought to myself, \"This is what it\'s all about!\" I thought I would be doomed to a life of going to AA meetings everyday, and not really being happy. That was not the case at all. I have a life because of AA, but it is NOT my life. AA taught me how to get sober and stay sober, but Jaywalker taught me how to have fun in sobriety.
