ABOUT PEAKS RECOVERY CENTERS
Peaks Recovery Centers is a gender-specific, long-term residential addiction rehab program, serving men and women between the ages of 18 and 30 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Throughout the duration of treatment, which is two separate phases of 30 and 60 days, young adults follow an intensive clinical curriculum of evidence-based practices, alongside experiential therapies and community meetings. The center is among the 53 residential facilities in Colorado.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The 90-day program at Peaks Recovery takes place in two distinct phases. In the first month, young men and women take part in as many as 15 to 30 hours of individual and group therapy sessions each week, which incorporate evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), alongside process groups and training in relapse prevention.
As they begin to address their addiction and any mental health concerns, clients start developing essential independent living skills. Clients are expected to work between 24 and 45 hours a week within 45 to 60 days of program entry, receiving regular assistance with resume drafting and filling out job applications. Some earnings go directly towards food and toiletries, while the rest is set aside until after program completion.
Peaks Recovery also runs monthly family sessions and provides weekly updates for loved ones. Two aftercare options are available to clients following their 90 days of primary treatment: extending residential treatment or enrolling in the facility’s sober living home while attending intensive outpatient (IOP) programming for three months.
