ABOUT ASPENRIDGE RECOVERY
Situated amid the Rocky Mountains in Lakewood, Colo., AspenRidge Recovery provides residential and outpatient treatment for adults struggling with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and process addictions. Detox services are not provided on-site at the center, which is among 6.8 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities in the state accredited by The Joint Commission.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
AspenRidge Recovery’s approach is rooted in 12-step methodology, as well as holistic and evidence-based modalities. There is no standard length of residential treatment, but most clients remain in the residential program for an average of 90 days.
During this time, they participate in 30 hours of weekly therapy – a mix of individual and group counseling. Process groups address various topics including trauma and family issues. Programming also covers life skills development, physical health, nutrition, spirituality, and self-esteem. To aid in their recovery, clients spend time outside participating in equine therapy, hiking, and engaging in other experiential therapies.
The facility also offers specialized treatment tracks for co-occurring disorders, women, and trauma. These 90-day programs use a variety of treatments, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive processing therapy, inner child therapy, and family systems therapy.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a less structured treatment option. Most counseling occurs in a small group setting and clients may attend between one and five days a week in the evenings between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Random urine tests are administered twice per week.
