Rehabs 360 Guide

Privé Swiss is a luxury residential treatment center for upscale clients seeking treatment for depression, exhaustion, or addiction. While residential treatment for those seeking treatment for substance abuse is among the facility's offerings, Privé Swiss also offers a host of other services, including a specialized program for professionals, a “Psychological/Emotional Treatment Program,” and a wellness program. It is one of the 66 (31.4 percent) of facilities in Connecticut with programs specifically for young adults. Detox is not available.

Privé Swiss’s differentiating factor is its personalized treatment. All clients receive one-on-one attention, and the facility admits only three clients at a time. It is one of the smallest facilities in the state by bed count. Its main offering, the Clarity Program, typically lasts two to four weeks, though the length of stay varies depending on needs. It is one of the state’s 29 (13.8 percent) of short-term treatment programs.

Programs are highly structured and guided by coaches for nearly every element. For example, clients meet with a psychotherapist three times per week, along with coaches for fitness, stress management, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life coaching, relapse prevention, and medication management (if needed).

Other components include expressive therapy, yoga/meditation, weekly massages, acupuncture, spiritual counseling, daily off-site outing opportunities (such as shopping, visiting the local village), journaling, and nutritional counseling. There is also a couples program available, which is available in 150 (71.4 percent) of Connecticut treatment facilities.

According to the Privé Swiss’s website, most of its licensed staff members have over 20 years of experience. The wide-ranging, multidisciplinary team consists of a nurse practitioner, therapist, clinical psychologists, physicians, a mindfulness specialist and meditation trainers, life coaches, a licensed acupuncturist, a yoga instructor, an art therapist, and several licensed counselors.

The facility boasts luxury accommodations with only three clients on-site at a time. Clients stay in private rooms or suites furnished with fine linens and maintained by housekeeping staff. They have access to cable TV and internet and eat meals prepared by a gourmet chef. Other amenities include yoga, Pilates, massages, and acupuncture.

Rehabs.com has received feedback for Privé Swiss from a single respondent to date. Giving two out of five star ratings for treatment effectiveness and accommodations and amenities, G.M. wrote: "Grossly overrated and obscenely over- priced program."

Privé Swiss is a private-pay facility and does not accept insurance.
