Rehabs 360 Guide

Located in the seaside town of Niantic, Conn., Oceanside Recovery provides outpatient-based treatment for adults and adolescents struggling with substance misuse and other behavioral health disorders. The facility also offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to alleviate the discomfort of withdrawal.

Before beginning treatment, clients first undergo a comprehensive screening and assessment, which helps to determine an appropriate treatment approach. When deemed necessary, staff may include MAT as part of an overall treatment plan. One of only 26 outpatient clinics (11.6 percent) in Connecticut to offer outpatient-based medical detoxification, Oceanside Recovery is an official provider of Vivitrol and may also utilize Naltrexone, Acamprosate, and Antabuse.

All clients typically participate in a mix of individual counseling, group therapy, 12-step groups, and educational workshops. Counselors use a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). Additionally, the center provides drug screening and genomic testing.

Oceanside Recovery is managed by a board-certified adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Additional staff includes a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed professional counselor, a registered nurse, and a recovery health coach who is also a yoga instructor.

Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, affiliated friends or family members, or staff. However, reviews submitted to third-party sites were very positive. On Google, four reviewers left an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars[1], while on Facebook, which the staff may manage, the facility received three five-star ratings.[2] Reviewers on both sites praised the facility's staff, in particular. “Exceptionally knowledgeable and compassionate care...” Jeannette, a representative reviewer, wrote on Facebook. On Google, another alum added: "The counselors here are honestly really helpful and engaging."

While the facility's website does not list the cost of treatment, they do indicate that they accept self-pay, as well as CT Medicaid and insurance plans from Aetna, Anthem, and Cigna are also accepted.
