  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
  • Individual Therapy

This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Located in sunny Florida’s beachfront community of Fort Lauderdale, Recovery In Tune (RIT) provides treatment for indidivduals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders through a variety of structured outpatient services and sober living facilities for adults.

Treatment is based on the 12-step model of recovery, and the center’s mission is to help its clients achieve “sobriety through inner harmony,” according to its website.

Along with its sober housing, RIT offers several levels of outpatient service for individuals seeking recovery. In the intensive outpatient (IOP) program, clients participate in structured programming sessions while still attending school or work. In the outpatient program, clients attend group and individual counseling once a week, in addition to education and recovery planning.

A specialized mental health IOP is also available for clients whose primary diagnosis is psychiatric, and special programs are tailored specifically for individuals struggling with an addiction to opiates/heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, or prescription drugs.

At any level, these programs emphasize the 12-Steps, in addition to trauma recovery therapy and motivational training. The programs include weekly individual counseling, group therapy, family counseling (as needed), substance abuse education, relapse prevention, life skills training, spiritual groups, and non-verbal therapies (including art therapy, music therapy, mindfulness, and yoga). Medical and psychiatric services are provided as needed through consultation or referrals.

Most members of the RIT team are in recovery themselves, and some specialize in treating trauma. The center employs a marriage and family therapist along with a licensed mental health counselor.

The sober living homes can accommodate up to 24 people in gender-specific, semi-private rooms. The home's feature Wi-Fi, phones, flat-screen TVs, and on-site laundry. Pictures published on the facility’s website show comfortable, family-style homes. Transportation to meetings and programming is included in the cost of treatment, as is gym membership.

Three of the four alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date were very positive regarding the facility. K.C. gave the facility five stars for its overall treatment effectiveness and its accommodations, and four stars for its food. “Amazing place with amazing people who care you and your well-being.” K.C. wrote. Another alum, Michael, wrote: “Recovery in tune is by far the best trearment center i have ever attended...The staff is very caring and friendly.”

The sole unsatisfied alum, K.R., felt differently, writing: "They’re caring only go so far and then whether the addict makes it does not matter much to them, if at all." K.R. also offered one out of five stars for the facility's treatment effectiveness.

Reviews available from secondary online sources included almost entirely rave reviews for the facility. Most described a supportive, family-like environment with caring, attentive staff. On Google reviews, the facility has received an average rating of 4.9 stars based on 35 reviews.[1] “Recovery In Tune is an amazing place with amazing people. They truly care about you and your goals and strive to help you achieve those goals,” Kenneth, a representative reviewer, wrote.

On Facebook, where RIT may have the ability to manage its own page, the facility has received nothing but five-star ratings, based on 52 reviews.[2] In a representative review, Kenny wrote: “This place is amazing all they want is whats best for you. They will help you any way they can...The clinical staff are amazing.”

The sole staff member polled by Rehabs.com to date agreed with positive alumni reviews, particularly concerning the staff. "Staff was incredibly caring for each and every client," the employee wrote.

Employee reviews sourced from secondary sites largely supported the opinion. On employee wrote on Facebook: “Recovery In Tune is by far the best treatment center I had the pleasure of working with." However, a single negative staff review on Google noted a high staff turnover.

Outpatient treatment and sober housing costs $5,000 for a month or $12,000 for 90 days. The facility accepts private insurance on an out-of-network basis, including Humana, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, United Behavioral Health, and Bluecross Blue Shield.
