ABOUT FORT LAUDERDALE ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER

Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center (FLATC) provides a broad array of treatment options for individuals struggling with substance abuse and other compulsive behavioral disorders, such as gambling addictions. FLATC places an emphasis on physical fitness and individualized treatment through its residential and outpatient programs.

Dual diagnosis treatment and transportation to detox services are available. The facility also works with court officers to arrange alternatives for clients facing potential incarceration.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Before beginning treatment, clients undergo a clinical assessment, from which an individualized treatment plan incorporating evidence-based modalities and holistic therapies is developed.

Residents participate in weekly one-on-one psychiatric consultations and 30 hours of weekly treatment programming, which may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), group counseling, educational sessions, and family counseling.

The rehab center also focuses on the 12-step model of recovery, and clients attend daily 12-step meetings. To promote physical fitness and mental well-being, FLATC's recreational and holistic therapies include yoga sessions, meditation, once a week massages, and access to a gym five days a week. FLATC facilitates support groups for client families and alumni.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Under the direction of a licensed psychotherapist, more than two dozen staff members include licensed counselors, social workers, master’s level therapists, registered nurses, and a psychiatrist. Therapists specialize in such practices as trauma treatment and sexually transmitted disease awareness.

The facility’s director of spiritual development holds a law degree and is an ordained minister. Several staff members are in recovery as well.

Another claimed misleading marketing practices.

However, alum Maggie wrote that she succeeded in treatment at the Fort Lauderdale rehab center after multiple attempts elsewhere because of the skills provided “to start working on a new way of life,” a sentiment repeated by another former client.

John, shared complaints about several issues, including different treatment for clients depending on insurance coverage and the failure of FLATC to deliver on its marketing materials. However, he also noted that “most of the techs go above and beyond for the clients.”
