TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To be admitted, clients should call the facility for a pre-admission assessment. The assessment will allow AION staff to confirm that AION Recovery is a good fit for the client, and will be followed by an insurance benefits check and help arranging travel arrangements to the facility.
AION Recovery’s adventure-based, holistic treatment program follows the 12-step method of recovery. Throughout treatment, clients participate in daily 12-step meetings and receive five hours per day of group therapy. Treatment also includes weekly adventure-based, experiential groups, daily meditation, and psychiatric and medical evaluations. Only 58.7 percent of Florida's facilities offer mental health assessments in their treatment plans.
Participants who begin their treatment with detoxification may receive medication under the care of medical professionals. Finally, AION Recovery offers unique treatments and therapy including yoga, acupuncture, massage therapy, sauna therapy, and weekly chiropractic services.
Families are included in the treatment program through AION’s Family Program, which invites families to attend treatment sessions via video conference, phone call, or in person.
Aftercare is available for all clients in the form of referrals to local therapists and self-help groups in the client’s hometown, as well as follow-up appointments with the client’s therapist. AION Recovery also has an alumni network for program graduates that allows them to stay connected to staff and peers.
The treatment team at AION Recovery includes a medical doctor, a licensed mental health counselor, a nationally certified counselor, and an employee with a master’s degree in social work.
