At first i didn\'t want to be here, but realized that i was sick, but i found out that this program is awesome and banyan really cares about everyone\'s sober life after this and wants us to love ourselves and and life its very amazing that they go out of there way to do for us that we cant do for ourselves. Before coming to Beachway my life was a complete train wreck. I was lost in life trying to find a way to do the right things to be a successful member of society. I was unsure of who I was as a person and I was very unsure what I wanted to do with my life because of all the damage I had caused through my drinking as well as my drug use. I was trying to mask all of my problems with a mind altering substances so that I could cope with everyday life. It was like I was in a hamsters wheel and I was unable to jump out. I was running in the fast lane and it was a dead lane. I was so insecure that I had contemplated suicide. When I got to Beachway I was welcomed with open arms and I could tell right away that the staff generally cared about the well being of my life. Beachway saved my life and for that I am very Grateful. The therapist are wonderful and are very well equipped in what they do on a daily basis. Life skills were taught to me so that I can implement them in my everyday life. I was given tools to use in coping with my alcoholism which was a huge benefit for myself moving forward to bettering my life. Accommodations were made to help me build a better foundation in my recovery. I am Comfortable in my own skin and I am very confident in my abilities now. I was challenged to follow very simple suggestions that were given to me by my therapist to help improve the quality of my life. Also getting out of my comfort zone to do things that I would normally not do was very vital in my recovery process. Today I am very confidant in what I have to do in my everyday life and I see the bright spots that life has to offer. I have come to terms with my alcoholism and I embrace any challenges that I may face with positive methods instead of doing destruction to my body. The quality of life that I have today is something that I am very proud of. Opportunities are limitless now due to the direct result of having sobriety for the first time in my life.
