Demitrius is very motivating. he keeps you engaged in his groups and is always positive. Everyone loved his group because it gives you energy and makes you feel hopeful. Hes very inspirational. Robsy is such a super nice guy. No matter what he's doing he would always be attentive and stop to ask if I needed anything. My therapist Safiyyah helped to push me outside my comfort zone and is so great at her job. Shane is just an awesome guy, he really cares and goes out of his way to let you know he's invested in your recovery. Mattie organized and created the environment that we have as big brothers to help someone new. When you're new it can be a lot of information and she helps everyone get a big brother which makes the transition smooth. She helped with coordinating the big brother team which I feel that really helps people. Nurse Glenn is so quick and helps me end my night the right way because he remembers everyone which is more efficient. He's just a nice guy. Tripp is an awesome guy, very personable and he gets things done, he helped me with something really important for my work. I liked that when you phase up the groups become more intimate. The first phase helps you learn the tools skills that you need to move forward to the more intimate groups. I loved playing volleyball and going to the gym. I played basketball too. If you're an active person, you can do countless things here to stay active, anything outdoors, even tennis. River Oaks helped me realize that I need to challenge myself to do things that are uncomfortable and challenge my old way of thinking. Including doing sober living which I'm going to when I leave here to have structure and accountability and stay plugged in to recovery. This is the first rehab that I've ever been to that provides you with the resources you need for your transition to stay sober like the temporary sponsor program. I call the guys on the sponsor list all the time which helped me build my sober community so it doesn't seem so overwhelming and scary entering the next phase of my life.
Wide array of treatment options, some very good staff and counselors. The kitchen staff was very accommodating to my special dietary needs. They were helpful in setting up aftercare and have been good in following up with myself and family. Good techs and counselors offered a variety of treatment options to explore. Facility felt like being in a nursing home/hospital
