Treatment at Holistic Recovery Center is centered on the understanding that individuals battling addictions are people who need a wide-ranging treatment program for their entire being. The probability of sustaining lifelong recovery is substantially greater when treatment services are individualized and implemented. We maximize this probability by tailoring each clients' treatment plan, and providing as many therapeutic services as possible, so each client can restore and balance his or her mind, body, and spirit. Clients will achieve freedom from their current active addiction while learning to live and enjoy life free of the destructive behaviors that brought them to us. Our holistic approach to rehabilitation and treatment provides tremendous benefits in reducing stress and boosting self-esteem. Our experience indicates this enables a well rounded therapy, and aids preparation for our clients to continue their new lives after departure from our center. Within our residential programs, participants enjoy a variety of holistic features, which include delicious and nutritious food, physical fitness, meditation, yoga, and/or acupuncture to accompany their individual and group therapy sessions. We use Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Equine Therapy to give our clients access to a wide range of treatment modalities.

Rehabs 360 Guide

Located 10 miles north of downtown Miami, and five miles from the beach, Holistic Recovery Centers (HRC) offers residential and outpatient treatment and sober living facilities for adults and seniors struggling with substance abuse. Those with co-occurring mental health disorders are also welcomed.

Treatment is based on the 12-step model of recovery, which are supplemented by individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychoeducation, life skills sessions, relapse prevention sessions. The primary therapeutic modality utilized is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Each client follows an individualized treatment plan. Additionally, there is dedicated programming for LGBT clients which only 22% percent of facilities in Florida can claim.

in addition to evidence-based practices, the center boasts of extensive holistic programming options, including Theta Healing, described by its founder as “a meditation training technique utilizing a spiritual philosophy for improvement and evolvement of mind, body, and spirit.” The center also offers kabbalah teachings, mindfulness and meditation training, Tai Chi Qigong, and 12-step yoga flow. Clients also have weekly sessions with a nutritionist.

Outpatient options, which draw from the same pool of treatment modalities, consist of a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and general outpatient treatment. Aftercare options include continued counseling, referrals to support groups, and sober housing options.

The staff-to-client ratio is 1:1. Staff includes a Ph.D level clinical director, a licensed clinical social worker, and master’s level counselors.

The facility offers 45 beds, some of them in private rooms. Photographs of the residential facilities published on HRC’s website show simply furnished apartments with kitchens, living rooms, patios with hammocks, and an outdoor pool. The treatment facility is a modern, office-style building with recreation rooms that include a pool table, ping pong, and arcade games. The facility also includes a barber shop and a tennis court.

With some very critical exceptions, the dozens of alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered overwhelmingly positive opinions of the facility, citing the dedication of staff, accommodations, unique amenities, and thoughtful programming as hallmarks of the facility. "HRC was an experience I cannot describe other than life changing and life saving," Crystal wrote. Alum A.P. added: "HRC provides REAL treatment unlike most treatment centers in Florida."

However, some alumni did offer some very critical opinions of the facility. One alum described the facility as "deceitful," and alum T.R. added:"Most reviews for the program are written as a the clients are leaving as part of the "exit plan". They literally sit with a staff member as they write these reviews...."

That said, at the time of this writing, the center had a 4.3 out of five-star average rating on Google based on 67 reviews to date.[1] On YellowPages.com, the center had 19 perfect five-star ratings.[2] On Facebook, where the facility may have the ability to control its own page, HRC has an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars across 89 reviews.[3]

The positive reviews on these secondary sites frequently praised the center’s staff and the physical facility. Many expressed gratitude to the center for its life-changing work. “I would have never thought that a rehab could have such a wonderful staff. Facility and support coach's,” Bart wrote in a representative review on Google.

However, more than one reviewer accused the center of being a “scam,” and alum Kelly wrote on Google: “They will sell you on amenities but really all they have is a nice building and the people running it are true scam artists.”

The five loved one polled by Rehabs.com to date also offered mostly positive opinions of the facility, with some exceptions. Domanic, gave very positive feedback for Holistic Recovery Centers, writing that it had “succeeded where other treatment centers had failed” in treating his father.

Like many alumni, Domanic praised the center’s hard-working staff. Other loved ones also reported a dedicated staff and sustained recovery. "My son graduated in June and now has a job and is becoming an honest, clean and good person," one parent wrote.

However, some loved ones supported alumni criticisms regarding misleading marketing practices and a perceived financial-driven agenda. One spouse wrote: "They do not offer any type of family counseling to help all parties...", reporting a lack of communication with their spouse while in treatment.

The one employees polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing also praised the facility, citing the dedication of staff as a facility strength. "Our clinical staff is truly second to none. The staff here works from the heart, not the wallet," they wrote.

Two staffers posting on Indeed.com gave Holistic Recovery Centers a three-star rating and a five star-rating, and both gave the center very positive feedback, particularly praising their coworkers. “My coworkers was great. The clients was the best,” an anonymous former client care coordinator wrote.

The center accepts private insurance including Aetna, AmeriHealth, and Cigna. For qualifying clients, the facility offers financial assistance covering less than 60 percent of the total cost of treatment. One day of treatment starts at $500, a month at $15,000 and three months at $30,000.
