Man, the level of care provided here is phenomenal. It's super nice, super comfortable. Alot of healing. They connect with people on a deep level. When it's time to transition back into real life your reluctant to go because they feel like family.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone struggling with addiction because this is a very awesome place.
So many people helped me during my stay. Isabel the housekeeper lights me up every time I see her, she's wonderful. Cami is an awesome therapist! She has helped so much by always making herself available. She's always on the ball and very enthusiastic. The TA's Rachel, Michelle, Staci, Tanya, Marco, Natasha and all 3 Frank's were amazing. Dr. Fahs was really cool. The groups have helped me tremendously. They've been fabulous. I've gotten so much information from them. I let so much out in group and shared things I have never ever said to anyone, I even got to cry and felt this power in the groups. I feel the change. The groups helped me understand that the more time I have clean, my brain can change and heal. The grounds are large and the oak trees are incredible. In the mornings I see fog on the field and took pictures of the full moon, its really beautiful here. I've gotten a lot of exercise here walking. I would definitely recommend River Oaks for people seeking recovery, the staff is wonderful. I see things now that I never saw before. I thought I knew a lot about withdrawal and drug addiction but this has been the most humbling experience I've ever had in my life. I loved seeing the speakers here and heard the most powerful AA story I've ever heard in my life.
