Compass Detox

1151 Poinciana Dr, Pembroke Pines, Florida, 33025
Our facility’s philosophy is built upon the belief that chemical dependency, if left untreated, is a chronic, progressive and fatal illness. The problem is pervasive and affects not only the dependent individual but also family members, partners, friends, employers, etc. Chemical dependency places an enormous strain on the family system and places all members in jeopardy. It is Compass Detox’s philosophy that substance abuse is a diagnosable and treatable illness. In the right environment, individuals have the ability to begin a lifestyle of recovery, leading to happy, productive lives. Compass Detox believes that a new way of life is possible. The first step is to undergo a thorough medical and psychological assessment, to identify the needs required to help an individual begin their journey in recovery. Compass Detox believes the journey to recovery begins with the detoxification process, which must be followed with involvement in a therapeutic regimen. In order to achieve and maintain a lifetime of recovery, a lifelong relationship with a therapeutic outlet, i.e., treatment and / or self-help, must be established not only for the identified chemically dependent individual but also for the entire family. Based on these beliefs, Compass Detox was established to provide an intimate and safe environment for individuals to begin the detoxification process. Our treatment facility provides medical and psychological assessments that are combined with a relaxing and educational environment, to help individuals take the first step towards a healthy and productive life, free from chemical dependency.

Facility Highlights

  • Individualized treatment plan
  • 24/7 care from our addiction-trained medical staff
  • Supervised and medically-managed treatment of withdrawal symptoms

Specialization

  • Detox

Though not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Many people use the term “detox” to refer to the period of time (ranging from a few days to a week) when the body is reacting to an addict’s decision to stop using.
  • Residential Treatment

Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.

I was not a client. But my daughter was. Twice. Both time marketed by their sleezy marketers out to make a buck regardless of the life of another human being. They are the model for “rehab shuffle” in South Florida. They are literally killing people. My daughter was sober about 60 days so still very vulnerable. The vultures affiliated with this place made sure to swoop down and let her know that they will get her the drugs to relapse and then make sure she gets paid. And of course they got paid as well. Lovely 😡

If you have any common sense you will take into account the rating of this facility. This is absolutely one of the worst, most unprofessional, detox facility. They will take couples as well which is a huge red flag. Keep you as long as you like. You will leave here with a worse habit than when you went in. They will do anything to fill a bed and collect their commission.. And these are the type of people that are suppose to be caring for your loved ones and guiding them in the path of recovery ? The Florida treatment model is flawed.

I went to Compass Detox in August, 2017, and stayed there 12 days. I had no idea what to expect, but for me, it was a life-changing experience. The accommodations are better than some hotels I've stayed in. Patients/clients are required to have vitals taken at least twice daily and attend 4 group meetings a day, where the client learns how to work through the physical, mental and emotional ramifications of intoxication/addiction. The staff is kind, caring and understanding. They make it very clear that the only requirement is to take time for yourself, to detox from your drugs and/or alcohol and to start learning a new way of life that does not include mind-altering substances. I owe my life - both literally and figuratively - to Compass Detox.

I have been to countless treatment facilities, in multiple states... Compass is without a doubt the best facility I've been to. They have the greatest staff, who will do whatever they can to help and support their clients and their families. After completing their detox and residential programs, I know this is the only place I would suggest.
