ABOUT TRANSFORMATIONS BY THE GULF
Located on the barrier island of St. Pete Beach, Florida, Transformations by the Gulf offers outpatient treatment coupled with community housing to adults struggling with substance use disorder. Additionally, the rehab is among the 24.9 percent of treatment facilities in Florida dedicated to helping pregnant women struggling with substance abuse in any trimester.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Transformations by the Gulf does not offer a residential treatment in the traditional sense. Through its partial hospitalization program (PHP), which is the most intensive level of outpatient care and offered in only 24.6 percent of treatment facilities in Florida, men and women may access community housing to receive 24 hour support and monitoring while participating in treatment.
Transformations also offers an intensive outpatient (IOP) program (with housing) that meets three days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Both PHP and IOP tracks offer treatment in intervals of 30, 60, or 90 days.
Treatment is 12-step-based and utilizes evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). All levels of care feature gender-specific group therapy, psychoeducational groups, and individual counseling, as well as holistic offering such as nutritional counseling, yoga, personal fitness training, and acupuncture, the latter of which is available at just 11.4 percent of treatment facilities in California.
The staff includes licensed mental health counselors, an addictions and trauma specialist, an acupuncturist/clinical herbalist, and a certified addictions counselor. Yoga instructors, a fitness instructor, and a nutritionist are also on-site.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility can house 30 clients. The gender-specific residences, which offer some private rooms, are newly renovated. Women are housed in a five-bedroom house with a private backyard and a pool, while men live in apartments only three blocks from the beach. Both units have fully-equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, WiFi, and cable.
